Do any of you use a blog to share your homeschooling experiences? I have just set up my first one, but am wondering what is out there. I'm also wondering what blogging sites (don't know the correct term to use here) are the best.

A friend of mine made me set up a xanga site  . Now she guilts me into keeping it up  . I don't use it specifically for sharing my homeschooling experience..its more of day-to-day, crisis-to-crisis kinda site for me.

Xanga is free and allows comments and such from people. I have met some new people on there that check out others' sites about homeschooling and Christian mommyhood. Sometimes it's neat to see just who is reading it :)

I know! I know! (Jumping up and down with my hand raised so the teacher will call on me! LOL ) I just read an article this week and learned what "blog" is. It's a "web log". That's the extent of my knowledge, though....

For those of you in the know, is it like a journal you keep online?

The article I read gave me the impression some folks use it to report their "take" on current events, stuff like that.

Anyway, Brooke, why did your friend make you start one? And what is a xanga site? :?:

    Blessings,

Sort of an on-line public diary.

I have no time at all for that! I guess I could do that late at night instead of "shopping" online but I think shopping for deals is a little more fun, lol!

Yeah, it's like an online diary of sorts. You can share whatever you like, but I'm not a tell-all when it comes to online. My friend posts pics and names of all her family  . I usually just write about struggles and triumphs and anything noteworthy to keep friends posted without writing a billion e-mails  .

Xanga is a site that you can go to and get a free blog.

Mine is http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=runningwater if you want to take a peek. I haven't updated in a while. When I said made me, I was being sarcastic. In a weak moment I caved and agreed to set one up. Now she guilts me into posting....but I love her! :D She is my prayer warrior friend I sometimes refer to on my site.
