Okay so I stole this idea from the "Tell us about your kids" thread. I love my husband and love to talk about him and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So tell us about him. Crazy stories not only welcome but prefered!

Okay my hubby's name is Dwayne. He has brown hair, brown eyes and very dark skinned. He'll be 38 in a few months. He is mistaken for hispanic all the time. He is the sweetest thing ever. He owns his own business and works hard. He spends all his free time with me and the girls and is awalys ready for whatever we throw at him. He is not the biological father of my oldest but has raise her since she was 4 and thinks of her as his own. He is a fabulous cook!! He is very thoughtful but not really romantic. He is a true family man. He likes to hunt and has a large collection of guns. He also enjoys sky diving. He is way laid back and calm and you'd think a little shy while I am loud and very talkative. He balances me out quite well. He is very outdoorsy and good with his hands. He is a manyly man in everyway. He is my best friend and we talk about everything. He doesn't shut down or shut me out ever. He is always ready to listen. He is my soul mate and I know I've found who God intedned me to be with. We just feel it with each other.

Carl is short, has a beard, is over weight, has a very...unique...sense of humor, and is the very BEST huband around! He makes being submissive a real joy. He teaches computers/math in a public high school, enjoys hunting (though he's yet to actually GET something!), and is going Sunday to take a class to get his Concealed Carry permit. Oh, and when I was 14, I thought he was the cutest guy alive the first time I saw him, lol!

Well, it is my turn to share!:D
Handsome's name is Ray, although I think Handsome suits him better.
Handsome is a very quiet and reserved person around people when he first meets them. He loves to read and work on the fruit trees.
When Handsome and I were married he had two daughters then Ems came along unexpectedly. We weren't planning on having anymore. She has been such a blessing in all our lives.
Handsome is the foreman/superintendent for a concrete tilt-up company. He works very hard for his family and I am so thankful that I can stay home and homeschool Ems while he is out slaying dragons.
Handsome has green eyes, wears spectacles  , has a flat top, and pointy nose. I tease him that it looks like he stuck it in a sharpener. He is very dark from being in the sun all day but once he puts on shorts, his Irish/Welsh blood shows.
He loves to collect books and movies. Handsome is very supportive of Ems being homeschooled and this has been a blessing. I almost forgot, he is a math wiz. I call him a human calculator because he is so quick.
I am glad that he likes to call me during the day to share what has been going on.
I met him when I worked at a dry cleaners. He was building the Welfare office across the street and seen me walking to lunch. He decided to take his breaks when I did so he could talk to me at the restaurant. Well, he was to shy to do it. I noticed him staring a lot and called him a pervert.
Well, this did not hinder him. A week later he brought in three shirts to be cleaned. I asked if he wanted them dry cleaned or laundered. He said, "I don't know."
Then I told him his shirts would do better laundered and if he wanted starch.
    He said, "I don't know."
I told him he should go with heavy for the type of shirts they were. He said alright, took the slip and walked out. I never gave him a second thought.
Well, a few weeks past and my friend at work called my house to tell me that this man came in and asked about me. He left a number for me to call. I did not want to call because I figured he was a pervert.
My roomate told me to call and if I didn't like him then I never had to talk to him again.
So I called and here we are. Now Handsome tells me that he never took anything to a cleaners up until that time. He only did it to get to know me and they weren't his shirts. They belonged to his dad! LOL
He just did it so he could meet me but he didn't have the courage to start a conversation.

My hubby is Andre. I sometimes call him my own "Denzel Washington".

We met at a gas station here in MD on St. Patricks Day, ironically we were both headed to the same resturant with a close friend. We are both from TN, but him; Memphis, me; Nash., and neither of us had been to each other's home city before meeting. It wasn't love at first sight... for him that is. -LOL

He's an Engineer grad from the U-MD and works as a Senior Software Programmer. He loves watching his college basketball games and following the Terpins and other teams stats on the web. He is also a lover of history. I often go to him for Trival facts when I don't feel like Googling. He introduced me to "books on tape" since we travel a lot in the van going from MD to TN and to family vacations.

When I met him, within the first 2 minutes from talking/meeting him I discerned he was a "good person." and "husband material." As a matter of fact, I proclaimed it within 3 minutes of meeting me that "he would make me a good husband!" All those toads before him helped make this clear to me. When we dated we took it slow and got to know each other well before we became a couple (6 months to be exact), a record for me.

The thing that also set him apart initially and still, is that we both wanted the same things, so no converting him was necessary. I got what I got and I'm happy with it....or can live with it. -LOL

We are opposites in some ways, he's more introverted than I, he is patient and forgiving, where I need a little help with these virtues. He is analytical, and philosphical, where I'm more of the creative, impetious type. We both love movies, music and together we learned to love travel and cruising.

But the real secret is that I "prayed" for my husband. He has made so many dreams come true for me, some old and some new. In addition to being my hubby, he has also been my best friend for over 15 years now.

Of the many good things in my life, he is my gift and he is my blessing both to myself and to our children. He listens, he understands and he supports me and for that I am grateful. (Now if he would just stop procrastinating and taking too long to do everything.)

Ok, seriously, when I talk to our teen daughter about boys, I tell her when the time comes; to find and appreciate a boy like her "DADDY".

My husband is better than yours-ors, na na nuh nah na ....nuf said.

I have a cool husband. He is about 6,3'' and pretty much slender except for a bit on the front of late. He has a full head of dark hair with greys only on the neck and sideburns which he keeps shaved/trimmed. He is a pretty young looking 60 and rides his bike to work and back 9 miles each way.

He is a history buff and loves facts and figures, and also is a walking almanac of baseball and oldies music trivia. This is the opposite of me who cannot remember my own birthday.

He is a really great guy. He does however sleep with my boss, but I tolerate it because I'm self employed.

Dh is my soulmate. I couldn't ask for a better husband or father for dd. He's one of the hardest working men I know- apart from my dad. He would give you the shirt off of his back and then some if you needed him.
He's a no frills type of guy- which is why we hit if off in the first place. He loves nature, the outdoors, and simple things.
He pretty much raised himself and decided in hs he wasn't going to turn out like his dad. He takes pride in his work and what he's done with his life so far. He's not proud but also not shy to say that he didn't get to where he is by sitting on his duff and nobody handed anything to him.
He's layed back, kind, and nothing bothers him. Where I am weak his is strong and we balance each other out.
A funny story, when we first met he told me he was irish. He told my family he was irish. So our first Christmas at our parents they gave him a book of irish poetry- he's a writer when he has time, and a tee that said "luck of the irish" on it. They had never seen him before that because we got married without family there.
Now you'd have to see him, he's about as German as one can get- not to mention the last name is german lol. He's about 5'8 and built like a tank- broad shouldered, broad chest, very stocky, very blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. Can you get any more german than that? It's been a joke for years LOL.

My hubby (Mac--Malcolm) is 6 foot 3. (over a foot taller than me). Has a mustach because if he had a beard it would be all gray. He grew up in NC. He is a machinist and is very good at what he does, they always give him the "hot" jobs, meaning the ones they need right away or that is very tricky to do. He also is good around the house at fixing things and toys. (and good at other things ;) )
He is 20 years older than me (will be 54 in July). We met online.

Mine, too...even spelled the same. Dh and I met in a college sociology class. We later had many classes together (sociology and church ministry) and served on a short term mission trip together. That was before we started dating. On that mission trip dh and I were the only ones in our group who would sit in the back seat of the station wagon that was taking us there-- facing backwards, looking at a U-haul, up the Ozarks. (and I get carsick!!) God must knew that- shortly after we returned from that trip, we began dating and were married a year later.

Dh is a professional Boy Scout (District Exectutive), and he loves the job. He is not at all handy around the house, which I tease him about. He's a good daddy, and it a joy to hear the kids yell "Daddy's home!" when they hear his car pull up.

Dh has been blessed with a beautiful voice, and has served as a bi-vocational Minister of Music. Unfortunately, his job now requires so many hours that he can no longer do that. It's something that we are praying about though, an dh has put out some resumes for full-time church positions.

This is fun to hear about everyone! Now I knew all we women were awesome but it sounds like we all have pretty awesome husbands too!

I didnt add how me and dh met and some of you did so here I go.

We met at a dance hall at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo after the Martina McBride concert. I was there with my friend and some steer wrestler wouldn't leave me alone. SO I saw this guy and walked over, tapped him on the shoulder and when he turned around I introduced myself. He had a badge on his shirt and I asked if it made him special. He said not really it just means he is on a rodeo committee. Then I asked how old he was and made him show me his ID because I thought he was about 23 not 31 like he said. So we talked the rest of the night and he asked me out for the next day which I said no to. I called him 3 days later, we had our first date two weeks later (which is a whole other interesting story) and have been inseperable ever since.

    And thats my story.

My dh is 6`4 245lbs Dark hair, hazel eyes. dark skin. His mother is full blooded Portuguese, so he is half. Yes people mistake him for Hispanic alot. I have fair skin and hair, but all 4 of our kids look just like him. I`m the odd man (or woman) out LOL! My dh loves to sing, and can sing quite well. I love when he sings to me, he makes me melt. Sometimes I call him a walking jukebox. Anything he hears he can sing a song that has that phrase in it or suits the mood or whatever. He is incredible LOL. He is also a BIG cut up. A blast to be around. And can talk to just about anyone. (totally opposite of me). He is the superintendent for his fathers company. They build luxury homes $1 mil and over.(No we dont get a lot of money, but God does supply all our needs, and alot of our wants.) He is a wonderful husband and father to our kids. Someone else said when other women complain about their dh you dont think that way. Well neither do I. He is very loving and affectionate. He likes to love on me in public and people will tell us to get a room LOL or tell us that it is sweet that we still act like newlyweds after 15 years of marriage. He loves me for who I am, no matter what. He comforts me when I need it, loves me always, prays for me when I need it, helps around the house alot, helps with the kids, the list is endless. He is my best friend. (He says the same about me too!) I could talk all night about my dh.

We meet when I was 6 yrs old and he was 9 yrs old. We attended the same school all our school years. Attended the same church. His kid sis and I were best friends. I would spend the night at their house and never give him a second thought. Till we went to senior prom together and that was that. We were married a little over a year later.

For awhile, mine was told he looked like Lawrence Fishburne. That was back when the movie of Ike and Tina Turner first came out. Anyway! Mine is about 6'2" avg. weight 200. As I've mentioned before he is black and from Belize. His dad was mixed - his mom was a white Scottish woman - and he had hazel eyes but my dh ended up with brown. 2 of our kids have the hazel and 2 have brown. Our meeting doesn't sound so unusual after reading some of these posts! I have joked in the past the the military is the only way a white girl from the Catskills of NY could end up married to a black man from Belize! I had been in Germany for about 3 months and we were sent to Denmark for field maneuvers. I worked in the Food Service field aka a cook. I hated it but loved doing the outside grub work like helping with the generators and outdoor washing stations so I was always finding ways to be out of the mess trailer even though it was December! My dh had missed his plane when he left Ft. Lewis (WA) and when he got to Germany he ended up doing KP for our kitchen. He asked me out for coffee and we ended up marrying about 1 1/2 years later. We did things backwards and got married in Denmark and went to LA and NY for our honeymoon. Joyce likes to joke that she is a Belizian New Yorker and she was born down here and has been no further north than NC!

Wow after reading this, Geekymom, I prayed for my hubby too, infact he is my first boyfriend... we met when we were 24!
I dated boys but never was serious, btw. I actually fell inlove with the back of my hubby's head! lol! He was at church and I saw the back of his head and knew who he was and that I just HAD to see his face!
low and behold he and his mom and brother sang a special in church a couple minutes later and my words were ' HES GOOD LOOKING!" to to day I do not know if I said it aloud or in my head but I was the last person to sit down as they approached the platform and my pastor knew I was a gonner! lol! The rest of the story is written in my book!

My husband is amazing in so manyyyyyyy ways (not just the incredibly young & handsome look). He always puts God first and family second. He is truly "a man after God's own heart." My husband is my hero of faith and integrity! He breathes and lives what he preaches (he's not a preacher by profession, but he loves to talk about God and the Bible). He is also the most giving/generous man I've ever known.

When I read the following Bible verses, I think of my hero hubby.
"The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just. The law of his God is in his heart; his feet do not slip." Psalm 37:30-31 My husband is a wise, just, and righteous man.

"The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him." Proverbs 20:7 Our children are especially blessed! And I am a very blessed wife!

In addition, my husband is a prayer warrior, a cheerful giver, a humble servant of Christ, a loving & faithful husband, a superb daddy, a Godly leader, a hard-working provider, a strong & capable protector, a talented piano player and composer, a judicious professional civil engineer, a kind & trustworthy gentleman, an excellent sportsman (basketball, baseball, ping-pong, golfing, soccer, etc.), a hard-to-beat chess player, an intelligent debater, a witty & funny entertainer, a natural linguist, an extremely honest man, a terrific tea & coffee maker, a daring juggler (juggling mangoes, eggs, and such) and lots...lots more. Did I mention that he's amazing? He's by no means "perfect." He's just my real, amazing hero!

Hahahaha!!! That's funny Becky. My husband has been told he looks like Boston Rob (you know from Survivor and The Amazing Race). A few weekends ago someone told him he looked like Troy Aikman.

Wow, I can see my husband in a lot of these other guys! Take all the best attributes of them all, and you have my dh! :D  I will not brag that he's better than any of your dh's, even though I think he is, because he's perfect for me, and you got what is perfect for you! PTL!

DH and I through our church Dating Service. I was teaching gradeschool at a Navajo Mission in New Mexico, and he was working as an engineer in California. Interesting thing is (it's a God-thing, NOT a coincidence!!!), that as soon as we started writing to each other, he started getting assigned business trips to Albuquerque, NM, and in Arizona. On the weekends he could fly home, or wherever he chose. He started choosing to come visit me! God is good! My friends put him up in their place, and we were able to take walks and spend some time together, and he joined right in with playing with the Navajo kids I worked with, and they loved him!

Whoa, before that, since I was a single young woman out in the boonies, two of the married ladies working there got together and decided that I needed to get moving toward marriage, and how could I do that 50 miles from the nearest town?! So they sent away for, signed me up, sat me down to fill out forms, paid the fees and sent it away, to make sure I followed through with it! Well, bless those ladies, cuz I ended up meeting my dh!

My sister lived in CA at the time, and I was heading there for Christmas. So, 6 months after we started writing, he and I decided to meet for the first time at her house on Christmas day. He would stop somewhere and call when he got close, and I'd go meet him. There were 30 people at my sister's (he was brave to show up there!), and I wanted to see him FIRST! Everyone knew he was going to call, so when the phone rang, everyone turned and looked at me with silly grins! My nephew, age 7, answered the phone, then he called out, "Deena, somebody NEEEEEEDS you!" Everyone laughed! But, it was prophetic I guess! Heehee!

My dh's family is from Maryland, and he also graduated from the University of Maryland! He talks about the Terps and has some t-shirts with it on.

He and I were made for each other! We compliment each other so well, and just adore each other! Like I said, a lot of those great things others have said about their dh's are like mine too! God was definitely the one that arranged our marriage---we NEVER would've met otherwise! We have been married a little over 19 years now, and people still ask us if we're on our honeymoon!

We tell our children that if we could wish for anything for them when they gow up (aside from a close relationship with God which is THE most important thing we could wish!), it is that God will bless them with a marriage like ours! It's beautiful, with Christ #1 and each other #2, and I thank God everyday for what He did by bringing us together! God is so awesome, and knows just what we need!

Sorry to talk so long, I can't help it! I wanted to say that I got two people ANGRY at me one time for not joining in on the husband bashing session! They said, "Ah c'mon we're just having some fun!" I said, "Well, I honestly can't say negative things about my dh, I don't feel it's right, and I love him too much to do so!" They got angry because they thought I was being a goody-goody! <sigh>
