Hello, I am Melissa Mom to Presleigh, age 7 (will be 8 on May 26th) and we live in West Ga. I am going to start homeschooling Presleigh this year (2007-2008 yr.) and she will be in 3rd grade.
Hi Melissa, Welcome. We are finishing up our first year homeschooling our youngest two daughters. We love it. My girls are doing so much better now. Emily is finishing third grade and Crystal is finishing eighth. I am so pleased with the progress they have made. I don't know if I would have done as good a job without the advice and support from everyone here. They really helped me to let the girls de-school for a while and not just do school at home. That made all the difference this year. I hope you stick around and get to know everyone here. It is a great group. Beth in NC.
Hi Beth, It's nice to meet you. I feel this is the best thing for my daughter. You meantioned de-schooling, how do you do that? She my need that for a bit before we start.
Awww thanks. I hope I can make it fun for her because she has a few LDs (Auditory Processing Disorder & Receptive-Expressive Lanuage Disorder) They kinda go hand in hand.

Welcome Melissa. I am Leah from GA. We are south of Atlanta. This is our first year of homeschooling our 7 and 8 year olds. My son's school told us he needed to be tested and possibly be put on meds to help with learning. Was not happening. We are doing great with all of our subjects now and a big improvement in reading. He is a normal boy who could not be put in a public school mold. You will love it here.
