I am thinking that a little while ago I read a thread on here that had lots of sites for younger kids, but I am not a very good searcher. Can someone please provide the link?

The sites I am thinking of were more educational ones. Maybe more lesson type ones? I think one was firstschool or something like that?

The site my son uses for lessons is time4learning.com. They offer a free trial too, it's worked really well for getting him on track and he has started reading too. It has really worked wonders considering getting him to do his work before was like pulling teeth :D They also have a playground section where they can play after doing their lessons.
