A bunch of unit studies on some good books. Great ideas to enhance the reading of some good stories.... I have not made it all the way through the list, yet... hee hee hee! http://library.uncc.edu What it is...... The integrated units presented here are the results of a course, Children's Literature Across the Curriculum, taught during the Summer Teacher Institute at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. They were written by the students in the course. The format of the units is patterned after the Jackdaws Series by Teachers Ideas Press. Units are no more than two pages and are only suggestions of how a particular title might be used across the curriculum. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the documents.
Jen, you are a good web finder always finding things for the young ones. Do you have anything like this for middle and high schoolers?
wow!! I LOVE this site! I'll be using it next year to help encourage reading along with the book it program for next year. Thanks for sharing Angela
These look pretty nice. So, each one is a study about a particular book. This would count for reading and writing maybe?
along this same line Homeschool Share This site features more children's books (some chapter books as well) with lessons for various subject areas. I tried to post a link to Homeschool Share but cannot do so until I've been a member for a while. You can type the address into your browser. It is www(dot)homeschoolshare(dot)com
You're quite welcome. Going to your intro thread now cuz I just thought of some questions to ask you, just for fun and because we're both online now.
Yes, Aussie Mom, the mom who "owns" the Homeschool Share site has worked very hard to include lots of goodies. If you're inclined you can submit a book title with lessons you have written. That's kind of a fun thing to do. I have a set of lessons for a storybook on Homeschool Share.
Amazing.. I'm glad to find this here. My sons love reading so they will make it more enjoyable and handy for me!
