Well school is offically done but we are still learning. We are getting ready for the Fair. Our county fair is in September. Well I posted in the past that I started agreed to start up a local a 4-H club. I have 5 families that are interested. The first meeting is tomorrow and I am a nervous wreck. I have never been in charge of anything. My mentor (l leader with 20 plus years experience hasn't confirmed if she be there tomorrow) I don't have the key to the church because we were camping. I have nothing formal planned except what I plan to do during the meetings and have a list of meeting dates up to a year from now (up until I leave when my husband transfer). I have folders for everyone and plan on taking a snack. I don't have a craft because I am not sure what to have. I have a mix of children which I love. It's one thing I didn't like about Girl Scouts. I was all girls. I like the mixing of both boys and girls. The youngest is 5 and the oldest 11. What are some good craft ideas for the age range. I am going to the store tonight when my hubby gets home.
I don't know if you have a Michaels craft store around you or not, but when I was there on Saturday they had a whole section called Summer Camp ideas. They had craft projects bundled in packages of 6-8. Also they had individual items from $1.00-2.00 a piece. They had a clearence section as well that had bundled projects ranging in price of $4.00-$6.00 , they were foam sticky cutouts. You could make a town , horses w/ stables , castles. Here is their website with some of the craft ideas I was talking about. The camp kit on the first page I think was $19.00 for the whole bucket ( and it is big). http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayproductlist?categoryid=110366&pageNumber=1 Here is their page with craft ideas/items also: http://www.michaels.com/art/online/static?page=kids Also try the $ stores. I always find craft projects there. You could have them design their own folders/journals that they will use for 4H. Just get stickers , glitter glue sticks , letters ( for their names) , markers , ink stamps, etc. Have them personalize it.

Depending on what types of families you have (i.e. Do all the kids have fathers?), you could do something for Father's Day. Our kids at church made Father's Day gifts yesterday, and they were all so excited. I always like to focus crafts around upcoming events or special days (Father's Day, 4th of July, a camping trip, etc.) or around a group of people (residents at a nursing home, soldiers in Iraq or Afganistan, homeless, etc.).
I was just getting some ideas on the www.orientaltrading.com and found a flower press that is half price, they would be fun to have for projects. http://www.orientaltrading.com/appl...ial&N=377685&tabId=Sale&sd=FLOWER+PRESS+(1PC)
