Ok what do you like to swim in, the ocean, river, lake, or swimming pool? I have to say swimming pool no matter how gross they are I have to be able to see whats at the bottom... Even though I think they all are gross to swim in..but oh well thank god for a good shower after wards
We have a very clear lake (you can see the bottom) as it is spring fed. I prefer the lake. I guess it is because it is what I grew up with.
A Pool! With chemicals that bleach and kill everything!!!! I will never forget being at the lake one summer and a kid pooped in the water! NASTY! Forgot to add I don't really mind the ocean either.
For just swimming, I like pools. But I LOVE the beach and ocean. Lakes don't bother me too much either. I just don't think about what's in the water with me. When I was growing up, we swam in a pond.
I grew up with a 14 acre spring-fed lake on the property, so I would have to say lake. I guess because I am used to it, it doesn't bother me. I live only 6 miles from where I grew up, so I now take my kids over to grandma's to swim and they love it. However, they DO have friends who get the "creeps" swimming there, with fish and all, who are used to only pools. But the lake is large enough that we have a floating trampoline and a small speed boat to pull inner tubes behind, so they tend to want to jump in eventually!! Carol
I'd say a clear lake or river. I think public pools are gross even with all the chemicals it just grosses me out. I still take the kids to the pool though. Notice I said clear lake or river not just any lake or river. I need to be able to see into the water. We went to Lake Catherine in Arkansas last year and it was so clear and beautiful you could see everything. This year we are going to Degray Lake also in Arkansas and it is supposed to be even better. A perfect place for snorkeling and scuba diving. Every August dh and I go to the Guadalupe River here in Texas to go on a float trip. The water is very very cold and very clear.
I say pool as well due to cleaniness, although I love being around the ocean. There's something about the oceanside that is so relaxing.
I am definitely a pool person! I like to go boating and go to the beach, too, but for actual swimming and laying out...I am all pool!!
I have to say a pool and lake. It all depends on the lake and I will not swim in a public pool. I have seen some that are pretty gross. Patty
I like to swim in lakes, pools rivers and streams even the ocean or the Puget Sound! If there is water ... well, okay not in a waste treatmetn plant but hey.. do fish swim?
I like to see what I am swimming in. I like to boat...but don't usually get in the water too much. Of course, last year I went tubing for the first time and had a blast...I just try and not think about what is in there! We are gong boating (maybe) next week with some friends...and then going to Holiday World (which is a small theme park/water park in Indiana)....I will be thinking about everyones feet and who knows what else I am walking on!
