I'm the first to post in House and Home!
My world is really small, eh? Hahaha!

    Ok, I have to confess...

Although I find the disposable items that have turned up in the cleaning aisles of my grocery store as of late, to be soooo annoying.. (Wasteful, expensive, silly...etc) I have to admit I have given in ....

    Yes, I know....
    The shame!

I have found a new appreciation for pre-moistened clorox sanitation cloths.... I know I know... they are simply paper towels pre-moistened with cleaner, that I could do myself... but when "J" came home from the hospital and everything had to be so clean, it was a big help!

    So THERE!
    I gave in....

But don't expect me to go buy a Swifer any time soon!

    Hahahahaha!
    :p

That was really neat........ I am glad Amanda added it here. I'm sure I'll have lots to add in the coming days.

Jen, I love the swiffer...... I hate changing the dirty mop water, I really need the newest one, with a little scrubbie on the end!

    Love clorox and lysol wipes!

AH! The wonderful lysol and clorox wipes! :)

How easy they make it for us all:)

Though, if you have been using them since they came out...yep...then you would have noticed they are making them cheaper quality. They are now more thin and flimsy than they once were. Geeze.

I too am annoyed by the waste of money disposable items are. Yet..I also do like the convienence. So, I struggle with myself in the cleanser aisle as I pick up any of those products. I must say I have given in to most of them. I do like the ease and convienence of them. lol

The disposable thing I use most of is paper towels. I go through them like you wouldn't believe. I could just pick up a rag or dish towel but then I'd have to wash it. Just easier. I keep the chlorox wipes in the bathroom but I think we are out.

I keep disposable hand wipes in my cars. I can't stand it when I leave the market and my hands feel horrible from pushing the cart.
We are also big paper towel users here. I use them for crafts, mirrors, tv, furniture, and so on. I love them.

I'm a paper towel person, too. Gotta have 'em. I do buy the Clorox wipes (store brand), but they are only used by my kids when they make bathroom messes. When I clean, I use the real thing. I also have a Swiffer, but only use it on my hardwood floors. The solution for it has gotten so expensive, that I just buy hardwood floor cleaner, squirt it on the floor and use a dry swiffer cloth (also store brand) to go over it. I found that the Swiffer really didn't do a good job on my other floors. It was streaky and didn't look clean. I just use an old fashioned string mop for those floors.

don't buy any of that stuff. Except for paper towels. I use simple green and wipe it down with a paper towel. I used to make the kiddos baby wipes when they were little. It was a pain but it saved money.

Anyone who has a son with poor aim (and could care less) will love those wipes! I send him right back into the bathroom and tell him to use a couple of those to clean up things.

I too use paper towels, probably way too much. I remember my mom would very rarely use paper towels and when she did, she would run them under water and wash them out, dry them and use them a couple of times. When mom died, I would go out and clean the house for my dad, well, the first time he saw me use paper towels (lots of them, I was cleaning windows) he couldn't believe it. I laughed to myself. He got over it, cause he enjoyed the company and a clean house.

DO NOT knock that Swiffer!! I bought one on Sunday...and I am in LOVE!!

I can't use a traditional mop because of the carpal tunnel in my arms....twisting and lugging a wet mop has me in tears...

so mopping has only been occasional since I've had the babies...

    I know....yuck!!!

But the Swiffer.....with the antibacterial cleaner....well, I LOVE IT!!
