Things have taken a turn at home, and i have no idea where to start. My husband says my kids should return to PS because they have no friends, i feel i am following what the Lord wants me to do, he hates the school system (I dont know whats got into him) He has asked me to try and start a group where i can meet with other moms who HS. The problems lie with i dont drive, i live in such a small town where people are against HSing. How the heck do i start a group? where do i start? I have tryed calling my local co op and no one lives my way to get a lift. Please can someone help, i have asked my kids and they dont want to go back :(

Sounds like you're all just in a slump right now.
Why don't you take it easy for a few weeks, regroup, and see what's what. I'm sure that things will get back to normal, and all will be fine.
Sometimes you just need a break. We all go through that.
Wish I had some better advice for you......

Hi.... I am new here, but felt the compulsion to butt in..... I feel alone as well. I think taking a break to regroup and refresh is an excellent idea :D.

    *btw.... I'm in KY too!*

In our town we have a home school group that meets at our local YMCA. They do gym activities and field trips and such while the book work is done at home. Do you have somewhere like that by you? You could also call your local Resource and Referal Agency. They deal mostly with childcare centers where I live, but they might have some useful information.

That is a tough decision. Talk with your husband and discuss the pros and cons. Heavily think about it before you make any decision. Also, include your children in the decision. Their voices need to be heard as well. Good luck!

rumpledoodles: love your avatar by the way :p .

Thank You, i feel pretty angry about this, all was going so well until this. As you all know Ive only been schooling a year, and to be honest i dont feel strong enough to open a group :( Just a little company would be nice at times, my husband is a trucker and hardly home, My eldest has a friend in the area, my husbands answer oh one friend. I have spoke to the kids and they say they would rather be here. Time to sit and think, i have a group about 8 miles from me, but no way of getting there. Problems PROBLEMS

If your kids want to be at home~ that's a good thing.
They must not be feeling nearly as "lacking" as you are.
We women can go through times like these.
Just sit back and take a few deep breaths.

Is there no way that you can get a car? Or do you not have a license?
If the meetings are only 8 miles away, maybe there's someone who would be willing to pick you and the kids up and take you.
Do you attend church? Maybe someone from church would be willing to help.

I have spoke to the lady who runs the co op and nobody comes from my area. I never thought of my Church though, and no i have no license to drive. Sadly im about as good as driving as i am at teaching/running house lol. This week i have decided to visit my husbands daughter as she HS and may be able to shed some light too,

Could you take a bus to get there? Even if nobody comes from your area you'll still get enough out of it and it will be a start.

No one from the co op comes your way but maybe if you were willing to pay them alittle they might come ask them that, its worth a try.
Now do you enjoy teaching the children?
If you do then you need to stick to your guns
what about putting the children in church activties they will me other children there.
what about going to the local park there are usually other children there
    good luck

I'm in Evansville, and I have friends from church in Henderson that homeschool. They are great people. PM me if you're interested, I can get you connected.
