Twilite...YES!!! I printed out the first one today. I want to do them in order. I'm thinking if we do one book for two weeks with worksheets and activities would be good. I'm thinking I'll read the book TO him first. Then the next day let him read it TO ME. Then I can identify words he needs to work on and make a vocabulary list (for reading, not spelling...). I think there'd be a way to factor in other subjects as well, too. I am just spellbound at the worksheets and teachers notes that can go along with them! AND ITS FREE!!!
Oh that sounds great. We are doing them in order too, we are on the 20th? I am not sure would have to look it up. Last year when we started we all had a book and we each read so much....it was fun. I learned Morris Code...did I spell that right? Tommy Tales is fun. They have a lot of other books too and I have been printing the fact sheets and keeping them in a notebook so when the kids are all done they will have those to look back on. Lots of information. I really enjoy them. I would think you could work a unit on the oceans, Spain, oh just about anywhere Tommy and his friends go. Even the zoo would let you teach about saving wild animals...just neat stuff. I can't say enough about the site and the fact they have made such wonderful tools free....very neat.
I think you have to sign up at the site but it is free and they just send a news letter once a month. The site is: http://www.learningpage.com/
It's actually Morse Code. I remember because I had a friend in 6th grade whose last name was Morse. When she said things that we didn't understand, we'd say, "It must be Morse Code!"
Glad someone was around to point out my fault! I can't spell....I don't know why or what happened but if it doesn't go through spell check I'm in trouble!
I only said that cuz you asked if you spelled it right. Some words are hard to remember how to spell, and that's the way I remembered that one! English doesn't follow the rules all the time so it's hard to remember how to spell some words. One thing that helped me remember how to spell weird was the little jingle: I before E except after C, What a weird society! Weird and society both go against that rule!
