I didn't need 5 minutes to know I would have exploded if my child had to watch that garbage.

it is sad what our world has come to.

Oh heck no!!!!! The first two minutes had by blood boiling. How dare the schools try to undermine what parents have worked so hard to instill in their children and push (force) that kind of nonsense down there throats. The scientists and school boards can believe in whatever they choose to believe in but leave my children alone!!!!

My children will never step foot into such an immoral place as a school building ever again!!

How do we know it was played in a school?
If the producer is the young kid in that one picture, I say consider the source.

Becky - Syele says in her first post that the video was played by a teacher in the classroom at a public school in Illinois - thats how we know it was played in a school.

Yeah, I saw that. I followed the link, though, and unless our stupid dial up is interrupting part of it, I didn't see anything about a school. I'm not discrediting Syele.

    This is the "Humanists" view.

I had a website bookmarked (And have since lost it, but will search for it again) that had a list of quotes from historical figures and even modern day so-called educated professors (Sucha s one from Harvard in the 1970's who basically said that "We need to save the children from the sickness they are subjected to by their parents on faith, admiration of our founding fathers and morals.

    Yea.. SICKNESS.....
    sigh....

    I still blame the hippies.

this is an extreamest point of view, in my opinion and its not somthing i would want my children to watch, espically without being able to watch it myself and answer their questions and concerns about what was said, however i caution you to pass judgment only after you watch the whole thing... the first few minutes are rather harsh, but after that it becomes very clear that this is not a blatent attack on faith, but is a dialog between a non-beliving scientist and extreamest faith followers... i actually found it very intresting to watch and would concider letting my children watch it if they were old enough to understand what was being discussed and have concersations with them about the diffrent views expressed.

    just my 2 cents worth

by the way, this is video 2 of 2. the 1st one explains more about why the video takes the view point it does. i dont agree with all of it, but the information is there if you would like it

I was thinking the same thing. The first few minutes were very harsh, but after that it was actually quite interesting. I also watched a portion of the first one and it really showed where he was coming from. It was not a video with a purpose of being anti-christian but about being anti-extremist. His main question was why parents should be able to segregate their children from the outside world for the sake of religion, even Christians can see the danger in doing so. He was relating this sort of extremism, and the how this leads to things like 9-11. I would not want my children shown this without my knowledge, but for teens I think it is a very thought provoking set of videos particularily if the parents have watched it too and can have an intellectual discussion about it.

But he is definitely anti-Christian and doesn't believe in the Bible, and feels that science has proved the Bible to be a bunch of silly, crazy, evil, bad stories. I watched the videos too. I think he does a good job at what he's doing, but he DOES try to prove that religions are not good because Darwin and other science has proved it false. My kids actually DID watch part of it, as I was watching it, and we discussed it a little. THey're old enough to understand where he was coming from and what we believe, and I KNOW they don't feel they were FORCED into this "myth" of Christianity, and certainly don't believe it's a "virus"! Course I've already infected them, so what do they know?!

To me it was actually kind of scary---that's what has caused terrible things in Wars. Taking children away so they can be "free" to make their own decisions, when in actuality they're forced to believe what these people believe! I hope this guy never becomes president!!!

Another forum I'm on had a parent complaining that it was shown to her daughter and wanting advice about how she should respond. She seemed quite upset about it and was deciding weather to schedule a meeting with the principal.

Connie, at one point He clearly says that teaching Children about Christianity is "Child Abuse." I'm afraid I have to say I think It's a blatant attack on Faith. I did watch the whole thing and it just made me very sad.

So we do know that it actually HAS been shown in the schools. Yes, I heard him say that he considered it child abuse to raise up children with the myth of Christianity. I think it's VERY scary!

I am all for exposing kids to what they may encounter out there but first of all yes, you should know and be ok with it and secondly it does not need to be presented this way. I do not know why some of these folks feel they need to go to such extremes such as in this video. Presenting alternative points of view for others to see or hear how the 'other half' lives/believes is about education but being slanderous or mean like some of these presentations have been known to be is not only appaling but makes people just not bother watching so what is the use of doing it really? They are silly..........I feel for the folks whose kids saw it and hope every one of them came home and asked a lot of questions so they are not confused.

The movie had been deleted when I tried to view it. But I can guess what it is like. :( Just someone try and replace that "Christianity" with "Islam" so it reads "he considered it child abuse to raise up children with the myth of islam" and he'd either be in jail or dead. people think we are fair game. :(
