I was wondering if some of you who may be signed up for the abcteach website, would mind letting me know what you think of it. I have considered joining, to have easy access to many materials, printouts and the like at one website. I would like to read some opinions before I do so. It looks very nice from what I see. Thankyou, Penny
I am not a member, but I have used quite a few of their free pages. I like to go there, but the longer I am at this (home schooling)- the more sites I have to choose from! Sorry I wasn't more help.. momx3
I have used it alot when my children were alot younger but don't seem to use it much now, but when I did you use it was wonderful and you can find alot of neat things for units and things that you can't find else where but yes it's a good site in my book.
The only site I would consider paying for is readingatoz.com. There are stories with lesson plans and it's all laid out and so easy to follow. There's just too much free stuff out there to pay for access to a site. What really gets my goat is when I'm linked to a site that appears free, but once you get there you find out there's a fee. Grrrrrr.....
I'm a member ! They have so much that is free... I think that is one thing I like so much about it. Paying the membership fee gives you access to even more great stuff. One of my favorites is the Reading Comprehension. I find it worth every penny !
I am a member of Enchantedlearning.com, I love all the print outs and information and craft Ideas they have. It just sempt like every time I did a search for something it would direct me to that site so I figured I would just join, we have gotten our moneys worth from it. I do the free stuff on abcteach too.
http://www.statefarm.com/kidstuf/smoke/indexyes.html FREE!! This is the statefarm web site that has a free program called smoke detectives to teach kids about fires. My boys did this but at the time state farm was sending the curriculum through the mail with vcr tapes and binders full of work sheets. Trivia: Did you know there are two kinds of smoke detectors that you need in your house? Ionization and photoelectric, one detects fast burning fires and one detects smoldering fires. I learned this in 1998 when we had a house fire and our detectors didnt go off until hours later.
