What is inappropriate to post on Homeschool Spot? I know all the basics like cussing, insults, things that are not family friendly, etc. What else? Can we mention we have a business? Can we mention we wrote a book or curriculum and provide links to such items? Can we provide a link to our business? Can we offer a special to ladies on here? Can we tell everyone about a charity we head up or a ministry? Can we direct ladies to our blogs, websites, and things of that nature? Where is the line? What makes one post about selling something okay and another not okay? What makes one post on a new business or advice on a new business okay while another post on a business not okay? I am asking sincerely. I do NOT want to make another mistake. I recently posted something that I was told had to be removed. Since the post was about offering a discount, I didn't see it as wrong. However, I CAN understand that it could be construed as a way to self promote or be a commercial...so I see why it's NOT allowed. I just want the parameters so I don't make the same mistake again. I don't want to cause problems on this forum as I love it very much. You see have I almost 10,000 posts! lol. I am NOT upset by my thread being taken down at all. I want to follow the rules. However, I have many irons in the fire from writing freelance to selling a product to selling unit studies to starting a children's group in my area with a friend. I am excited by all of it and love to share with everyone. My sharing took the route of offering a discount not self promotion. But if that is considered self promotion, let me know to be clear. I do NOT NOT NOT NOT want to cause issues. I just want clarification. What can I share and what should I keep under my hat? I already mentioned I sold unit studies and gave the link...was that wrong? I am so sorry if it was and it was missed somehow.
