Has anyone tried this "BookShark" product? It's from Sonlight. I like the look of their science curriculum, but a lot of the books, I can get used or cheap in my area. Have you ever heard of them selling you just the curriculum portion? Does anyone know how much the child has to sit and read on their own vs. things they do with the parent? My son was overwhelmed by some of the Apologia books because there was too much independent reading, and with all my kids we find it hard to do read alouds for any great length of time.

    Thanks!

I haven't used it myself, but I do believe you can buy any component by itself, or any combination of components.

Yes, you can buy just the IG if that's what you want. Their website isn't set up very well at the moment, so it's kinda hard to find. I bet if you email them they would help you out with that. For Science I'm pretty sure the parent is supposed to do all the reading to the child. With BookShark and Sonlight, the child only needs to read the Readers (until the highschool levels, where the child does all the reading).
