I was just reminded of something that I thought I'd share with you all. I know that most of us are in a similar financial boat. And even those who have some to spare might not want to.

So anyhow, Sarah Jessica Parker came out with a line of clothing about two months ago. It's called "Bitten" and carried by Steve and Berry's. It's a full line of pants, dresses (casual, office, and churchy), blouses, t-shirts, jeans, winter coats, spring jackets, etc.... everything. And NOTHING in the line (not even the winter coats) is over $19.95. Jeans run around $15. Some tops are under $10. You just can't get those prices at Walmart or Kmart. And before you assume that you're too, well, large for these clothes, they run from size 2 to size 22!

What I've seen of the line is impressive. It's not teen clothing. It's the kind of clothing that real women can afford, but it's mature trendy. I mean, this is the stuff in magazines.

Anyhow, I am on my way to the mall now to get a new pair of jeans. With those prices, I might even get a top ;)

If you happen to watch Project Runway, one of the competitions was for the Bitten line. THe challange was to make a trendy, quality, yet affordable outfit. It had to retail for under $40 (2 pieces).

Ok, so it got even better....

Steve & Berry's is having a HUGE sale (for an unspecified amount of time). NOTHING in the store is over $8.98!!!!!! I got 7 tops, a pair of jeans for DH, and two (yes, two) dress coats (the t-length double breasted coats you'd wear to church or an office job). I paid $67 for all of it!

Want to know the funny thing? I didn't find a single pair of jeans that I liked...lol. So it will be off to Fashion Bug tomorrow.

Wow! Going to go find the clothes... went to Steve and Barry's website to find that there aren't any near here! One in Temple, an hour north - might be worth that drive when income tax return comes in next week though! Thanks!

After many years of not being able to wear jeans comfortably, buying jeans has become my hobby/addiction (my daughter's words). I love being able to wear them now and I have found beautiful jeans at Goodwill for $3.50-$4.50. I got a pair at Walmart last night and they feel so good.

I've never had trouble finding jeans before. But it seems that I'm just not in any particular size. One size is enough too tight to be unpleasant (but not painful), but the next size up is just too dang big.

I should have some "luck" at Fashion Bug, and if all else fails I'll head to Cato.

Sd got a $50 gift card to Steve and Barry's for Christmas. She got 5 pairs of pants (jeans, sweats and a velete cord one) and she still has almost $20 left on the card.

We buy almost all her pants there. Sometimes the shirts are a little thin and run rather small but we just make sure she tries them on. She got a great coat for winter there and it only cost us $19.99. I do not know what I would do with out that place.

I would love to check out some of these items. I have heard about this line, but I can't find anyone who sells them, plus I don't know what size they go up to, that is an issue for me.

I hope she releases them in a more national retail chain.

They carry up to size 22 in short, regular, and long.

The line was designed in conjunction with Steve & Barry's, so I highly doubt any other stores will be carrying it. However, S&B is a national retail chain. You can find them just about anywhere and they are opening new locations all the time (since they are a relatively new chain).

I went yesterday but I didn't find anything. The prices were good. They have lots of teenage type t-shirts. They have lots of clothes for my dd but not really for me. It was fun looking though.

I'd never heard of them before. I went to their store locator---the closest one is almost 1 1/2 hours away. Not sure it's worth going that far! Once in a great while we go to that town though, so if I think of it next time we go, I could swing by the store and check it out.
