So far we have 4 who want to help us. I was hoping for some more (hint hint) Hey even if you are a PS teacher you can join us My kids would welcome anyone really! So the list is
    Brenda (need you address)
    Heidi (PA)
    Brooke
    abc Tammy

    Am I right???
    Anyone else????

If you want to know what we are doing we are sending a stuffed do all over asking you to be a host to him for a week or so and mail him off to the next person. He will have a notebook and you can add photos/postcards etc... The dog got his name for he is brown and we live clsoe to Hershey.(Kids Idea) We want to have him ready to go byAug.30. So I need addresses for Brooke and Tammy as well. We are putting a US map(will include Canada) And will mark where he is and has been calculate miles on the computer,And will keep a post here for notes. So let me know???

    Jimmie Lu,
I still have your address. When we start unpacking next week, I'll send you the duotang with the maps in it (and the page protectors I put in the book too).

I think I sent you an email with our new address - if you didn't get it, let me know and I'll send it again.

    Jimmy Lu.....

I'm in the same position Jackie is in... ..I did Chinook with oldest two, but now have a gap between them and my 4yo....I'll really would like to wait another year or two before I do it again... ..But i think its a WONDERFUL idea.....I will keep it mind, and pass it on to a couple of newbies that i know will be starting homeschooling this year.

I think there are a couple more here from Texas that didn't join in on the last geography project.....girls, oh girls, this is GREAT GEOGRAPHY project..It keeps you from having to do all that boring studying. :p

Let us know how its shaping up! Perhaps I might need to change my mind so those kids of yours won't be disappointed! :D

Count me in, Jimmie Lu. My Jeannie is also going to be four, but I'll find a way to help her learn from it.

If you get enough interest from other states, I will just step aside of this project and host Trish & Vicki's Flat Stanley for this year.
Since we have already met, it would probably be more interesting for your kids to send Cocoa to some new places.
But, it's up to you guys.

When I did Deena's, I discovered there was a little more expense than I had anticipated. It will vary. First of all, there is the expense of the field trips you take him on. This cost will vary. If you go to a major amusement park, it will be more expensive than a state park! Then there's the cost of possibly eating out while on the field trip(s). Again, this is variable. Some people will want to pack, others may go somewhere only in hte AM and be back in time for lunch, etc. Then there's the cost of processing the film to include pictures. Last is the cost to mail to the next person. Again, that will vary depending on where you're mailing it, and also the later people will have more to mail than the earlier ones. So I hope that gives you a rough idea. I didn't think of taking all that into consideration, but if I had I would have still done it.

    Deena

Does anyone know if Deena got her traveling notebook back yet? I have not heard from her. We did it a long time ago.

Lorna I think you had my traveling notebook. It only ever made it to you and and Gina in Florida. The third person on the list sent me an e-mail that she had it and would mail it off in a few days. That was over three months ago. I sent her several e-mails and even a snail mail letter asking her to please send it out. No response and I havent seen her on this new site since abcteach shut down. I was so upset and so were my kids. Not sure why she would keep it.
I sent out a post a little while back asking who would be interested in doing another one with us, but I havent had or made the time to get another one together.
So thank you for participating in our notebook, but I never got to see it.

Yes, it was yours. Sorry I thought Deena. I always get you two confused. I hate that it didn't get to you. It was really great. It had loads in it and wasn't that costly to send to the next person either. Maybe she will send it some day. That is what we will pray for anyway.

Thanks Lorna. That would be great to have it show up to Heidi (the next person) or back here with us. We had put two family pictures in it and lots of info. Thanks again for being a part of it. Maybe I will get another going.

we would like to host for you...

We are in north west MN, and would love to be added to your list.
Maybe you could have us at the end of your list. That way we could maybe get it in the winter.
Our norm. lows in the winter are -20 to -30. Sometimes getting down to -40. And I am not talking windchill here! Windchills get to be down to -50/-60.
And if we get wind at -40, we can get -70 to -90 windchills...
It would be fun to host and it be very cold! We could send info on our weather:0)

:0(And fall is right around the corner!!!
We can get frost in Sept., we have had snow in early Oct.....

Ugh, MaggyMay, have you lived there long? Those temps make me remember our useless heat pump. It felt that cold here, with the heat on.
