Does anyone here use any of the Scott-Foresman products?

Our local used bookstore has tons of these books and the teacher's manuals from last year. I think they outdate quickly, as most public schools use them. Most have workbooks and the teacher's manuals are huge. My one local used bookstore sells books between a quarter and a dollar. I have actually bought complete :) boxed sets of Lifepacs for seventy five cents each, saxon math books for a quarter and lots of brand new Abeka texts. I usually buy them and resell them on Ebay.

We have used SF math for 1st and fourth grades. My younger son will be using it for second this year and my older one for fifth.

I consider them to be similar to Saxon in content, but much nicer in the layout. For my math phobic older son, the Saxon book almost made him keel over. The SF one is more user-friendly in appearance. If that matters to you, then go for it!

We have tried A Beka, MCP and now SF and I'm happiest with SF. The kids seem to be retaining more, which is wonderful. I like that I don't have to really rely on the teacher's manuals too much. I also LOVE that the teacher's manual comes with a CD of homework pages, extra help, enrichment activities and more. Those were a big plus.
