I thought for sure I'd first seen it here, but a search isn't bringing it up for me. A few years ago there was an article circulating that compared homeschooling to "home feeding". It was originally a letter someone had written to the editor or something, saying why parents shouldn't homeschool, and someone else had rewritten the letter substituting public schools for public cafeterias, etc. My Google-fu isn't working, either. Hoping someone here kept a copy or a link. Thanks!

Laura, when it was written, a young man had died as a result of abuse. The boy was "homeschooled", of a sort. So, of course, it proved that all homeschoolers are child abusers. Never mind that Children's Protective Services had been called in several times for this family! But so many of the quotes you read are almost word-for-word quotes from the original anti-homeschooling article. This one was written as a parady

Wow Jackie. Yes, the article did scream "homeschooling" as I was reading the objections to homefeeding. I didn't know that background...I was a little confused why they added that a boy had died. Sad, and even more sad that homeschooling was blamed!
