Did anyone see the video on FB where people were asked to tell their kids they had eaten all their candy, recording their response and posting it on YouTube? Phillip thought it was really funny. I DID NOT!!!

These people were telling their YOUNG children (like ages 3-6) that Mommy and Daddy ate their candy. The kids are bursting into tears! When one mom tried to tell her child it wasn't true, the girl ran from the room, yelling, "DON'T MAKE ME CRY AGAIN!!!" One little guy was wearing nothing but a diaper, and starts into a tantrum, hitting Mom and throwing things. One kid gets all upset, and then asks, "Are you recording me?" And this is FUNNY?!? Those poor kids!

I agree - it takes a cruel streak a mile wide to do this to your kids, the younger the worse it is. :(

I really don't understand such humor. As far as I can see, cruel, controversial, heartless, and bigoted remarks can be made by anyone so long as they are cloaked in humor. Then, when you object, the standard dismissive reply is "huh, you just don't have any sense of humor." Oh yes I do! It just isn't warped.

"It was just a joke!!!" Yeah, right!

Phillip was amazed that I wasn't amused with it.

I didn't like it either. How mean to hurt your kids on purpose. It's no wonder so many kids today don't show respect for their parents when clearly so many parents don't respect the feelings of their children. How do we expect our children to look at us as trustworthy if we lie to them. Children learn by example. If we lie and show disrespect so will they. It doesn't matter what the lie - for "fun" or not.

    Ok. Rant over... :)
