I saw the favorite movie thread. Has anyone asked your favorite Christmas songs? If not I will. If I can only have one I will pick O Holy Night. I do love lots more but that is an old favorite of mine. I love, Mary Did You Know, Do You Hear What I Hear and many more.
My dgd3 learned "Away In The Manger" and we have been singing it all month. I think that is our favorite, this year
My Crystal was supposed to sing the second verse of Away In A Manger when she was about 5 and was in a play at church. She was so shy it was pitiful but she agreed to try it. When her turn came the choir director started it out wrong. Crystal looked so scared and then just stopped and started over and sang it the right way. I don't know how many people came up and told me that made them cry because everyone knew how shy she was back then. I guess it will always have that memory for us.
My favorite has always been Do You Hear What I Hear. Also, when I was younger I had a Christmas album that had Snoopy and the Red Baron. I actually heard it on the radio last Christmas!
I think I remember Snoopy and the Red Baron. My little sister had some songs about them. I can't remember if they were Christmas or not. I will ask her when I see her.
When my dd was 5 or 6, she sang for a Christmas Eve program. She sang "Happy Birthday Jesus" (anybody know that song?). It was so sweet! It became one of my favorites after that! I had people come up to me afterwards too, telling how much it touched their hearts! I just LOVE it when kids participate in programs, because they seem to be able to get through where an adult can't!!! Otherwise I love "Silent Night"!
Silent Night and Do you hear what I hear oh and I love all Christmas songs just getting sad that Christmas is almost here and we can't listen to them anymore. Maybe Jackie will let me anyway. LOL
I just LOVE "Carol of the Bells"! ESPECIALLY if the singers are going really fast and there's lots of 2nd part background stuff going on. It gets me so excited for Christmas!!
Funny, isn't anyone going to pick Grandma got run over by a reindeer? My faves are the ones geared at kids. Rudolph and Frosty especially. I like Silent Night, too.
