I'm up for doing a flat and hosting some as well. But I'm going to wait until next week so I'll know my address for sure! So if anyone needs them ASAP I guess I can't help otherwise We'll do it in a week or two.

If we wanted to do a circle thing we should just make a list of people who want in, and then we could just give our address to the person before us on the list... Those who want to add a flat Could add it in when they host or send it to the first person directly.

When we did ours it took quite a bit of coordination to check where it was, keep it moving, pass addresses along, and encourage people to remember to send it on. I think there needs to be a person that is willing to coordinate that type of thing. I've done my time already! :)

I'll do it. I have loads of free time atm. I just can't be first because of the move.. so we need a volunteer to have several people send them the flats at once. I think sending bigger things (Like stuffed animals) would get too big for mailing with decent postage.

Ok...I have already pm'd T"Mom and plan on sending a "Flat person" to her first. From there she can send it on to the next person. And so on, is that ok? I am still wondering how to work out the pictures and such. Just send it all on to the next person?

I'll put a reminder in our envelopes so our crab doesn't get mixed up in these more long term projects.

Beth~ you're exactly right about our lesson. It's from the Georgia public school system. I plan to send out at least three at a time, and mail them Monday.

Everybody~ if you want to help us, be sure to pm me your address if you haven't already. They're going out Monday.

I did, Jennifer. I was going to do a roll call over the weekend to be sure all were in who wanted in. I sound like a conductor!

that's what I was thinking.. To just send it all along to the next person. The package would get bigger as it went along. Maybe everyone can pitch in extra change to pay for postage as the package gets heavier. ;)

I had just figured if we waited to add our own flat person until the package arrives at our homes, then the people at the end would get theirs in way fewer places.. so I figured we could send our flat people to the first person to get started and then when the package comes to you, you can take some of the pictures and things that are yours to lighten the package and otherwise just be Hostess. Thing is, the first person would have to be ok with all of us having her address to send the first flats there.

OK... So all who want to participate make a flat and add it when the package reaches us. Then ALL of the flats travel in the circle together. Am I right? I was thinking just the 1st person made a flat and everyone else just added to it. I'm up for either, so I'm just trying to work out the details. Are we aiming for a certain size to keep this to, so we can control the postage a little? We are going to pick up postcards today to include!

I don't know if any one will be bave and lead a group project like some of you are talking about, but Becky started a seperat thread for Jeannie's Jessica Crab project--- they want to keep theirs sepeate.

I was going to start a new thread for the seperate project, but Becky did it first, so I just stayed here.

I don't mind leading it and I talked to my mom today, so I'm going to have this address through October.
    Here's what we can do:

    1. PM me and tell me you want in, weather you want to add a flat or not (Some may just want to host and not have their own in it), if there is and your address.

    2. If you want a Flat in it I'll send you my address and you send them to me. So that all the flats can go everywhere.

    3. I will give you an address to send it to after you get it. When you get it, Host the flats for a few days and send it on to the address I'll PM to you. While you are hosting it, if You have one in there you can take out the things that are just yours so the package won't get so heavy. Try to stick with paper items, postcards, pictures etc. and not bulky heavy stuff when you can.

    4. the last person can send it back to me and I'll seperate the stuff and send it all to the right people.

    5. Anyone who wants to help with postage can Add some change in the package as they send it on so the next person can use it if needed. The first ones will be lighter so the end people are the ones who may need the spare change.

Syele, Thanks for offering this! It'll be a lot of fun! I'm going to try PMing you, because we'd like to both do the flats and host. Tell me if you get my message. Thanks!

So we'll have everyone's at the same time? Is that right?

Yes, that way you host once and you have them all at once... otherwise we'd have to go round the circle several times or else some people would only have a couple of hosts while others had all of them.

Are we going to specify a size for our flats? Business envelope or catalog envelope size? Is there a target date to have these to you,Syele? Should we send a few things with our flats so that the ones at the beginning of the loop will have some information about all the places?

    Here's my idea...

I think we should make them no bigger than manilla envelope size. And I plan on putting some extra money in (maybe $5) to help with posage. I know not everyone can or will want to do that and I think that is fine, but I would like to do that. :D

    Ok...so that's my 2 cents!

And, yes....thanks for doing this Syele! This will be alot of fun for all of us...not just the kids!

I think that's a good size, Leslie. And for the money... change could make the package more expensive to mail because of the weight, so we may want to stick to bills. That's if you feel that you want to contribute. We just need to remember that Syele is planning to send all these things back to us, so we need to make sure it's not a huge burden for her. Maybe we should send SASE with our originals to help with cost? What do you guys think?

Oh, and Syele, since you are kind enough to coordinate this, you can keep whatever I send around with the flats (postcards,etc.). The only thing I'd want back is the flat himself.

    Thanks!
