I'm not a shoe person either BUT I have noticed, when I dress (shoes included) I really do get more done....it may just be the power of suggestion LOL but when I was was suffering with PPD, I HAD to get up and get me and both kids dressed everyday or I would just sit and wallow in the depression and never leave the house-and leaving the house was good for my mood-even if I didn't really want to due to the depression. Getting up, getting dressed, brushing my hair and putting on a little makeup did me a world of good. So it just became a habit....

I also don't like wearing shoes, and I don't normally put on lace up shoes in the summer (like FLyLady says to ;) ) but I do keep my flip flops on while I clean LOL

I love it but I don't follow it 100% either. I think it is about picking what works for you and making a good schedule and sticking to it. For instance, I don't wear shoes in my house but I do keep the pair that I am going to wear that day right by the door so that if I need to go anywhere they are right there. I also don't get all the crazy emails. I just go the website and look at the challenge of the day. Sometimes I do it, sometimes I don't. It just depends on if it is something that I need to do or is relavent to me at all. I did make myself a control journal and I love it! I use it everyday. I also really enjoyed the Christmas control journal that Flylady put out this year. It was a life saver!

    Be blessed,
    ~Dawn~

She's clear that everyone has their own "shiny sink" (area you take pride in cleaning) and that her methods are adaptable. I follow what I can, and adapt according to my living situation.

I know people who forbid shoes in their house, but they always wear "house shoes."

My 'house shoes' are my slippers!
    :)
I don't like to wear any kind of shoes in the house. I want to feel comfortable in my home and relax, and I can't do that with shoes on. ;) I guess I can see the point if you need motivation to get up, but the last thing I want on are shoes when I'm trying to be relaxed in my house.

All of your points are true for me, too.
Getting dressed, showering (or washing face/brushing teeth), and wearing shoes or slippers makes a HUGE difference.

    I cannot live without lists - that's how I got through full-time college + full-time job.

I am amazed at how much I can get done in just 10 or 15 minuets of focused cleaning. I never feel like I have to set aside an entire afternoon to clean my house anymore since I'm aware of how much can be done in such small chunks of time.

I've also found that wearing an apron while cooking and cleaning helps me tremendously (all around the house). Seriously. Try it.

Compartmentalized thinking is also key: one area at a time, one task at a time. Do things in "chunks."

Okay ladies I just signed up a couple days ago. I think it's working!!!

I made a "control journal" last night, and I now have a morning and bedtime routine. My house is already looking better, and I feel like I have a methode rather than being overwhelmed at what needs doing. I used to just see the whole house mess, but looking at "zones" and bite size chunks is really helping. DH is impressed too! He's even helping keep the sink shinny and the counters clear!
