That giant breeze you all might have felt tonight was my sigh of relief when my son graduated. I have cut all ties with the public school system.
The teacher who was chosen to speak to the seniors did something I thought was inappropriate. She spoke of this child who made her happy, this one who made her laugh, this one and that one she was glad to have in her class. She pointed out specific kids who made her happy, instead of addressing the graduating class as a whole. Even the class president did this- my friend this, my friend that. It was everyone's graduation, not just these popular kids. It just irritated me. What if a kid enjoyed the teacher's class and did well, but just was not very outgoing? Does that child rate any less?
I will be so disappointed if I ever have to put Jeannie in that dog-eat-dog environment. I'm sorry Kevin had to tolerate it for 13 years.

I am so happy for you!

I would not have liked the teacher pointing out specific kids either! That part is too bad.

Glad it over. You're right, that is inapropriate.

YAY for Kevin! What a couple of rotten speeches though. That's horrible and highly innappropriate.

Lol- I wondered what was going on with this! I can't believe three years have gone by already. He misses it. I told him he should see if they need volunteers or something.

OMG! Here I thought I was losing it! I was thinking..."I thought Kevin was already out of high school???". Then I thought maybe he didn't graduate and went with the flow. How embarassing. Duh...look at the date Jen. Tisk tisk Nellie...what a mean trick...;). Just kidding.
