Hey Gals.... I was hoping you could help me out..... I am in resource book production and need a few "great" websites to put throughout the book. Things like websites for.... drama/theater, Music composers/appreciation/etc..., Spelling, Geography, Science all types, math, speech/debate, any cool website that you use a lot My only rule is that it must be a free website. When you send it to me....please put the title of what the site is or what it is about. A small blurb about what it contains (should be less than 4 lines unless its REALLY AWESOME) and then the website formated as it should read not a clickable link. So....example Where Is That? Level 1 : Identify which country or state is highlighted (multiple choice). Level 2 : Spell the name of the highlighted state or country. Level 3 : You are given the capital. Identify the country or state (multiple choice). Level 4 : You are given the capital. Spell in the country or state. Level 5 : Identify which country or state is highlighted, AND fill in the capital. www.funbrain.com/where Another example: Robert Krampf's Experiment of the Week Neat science experiments emailed directly to you! I'm sorry I must not have been clear. I've got a gazillion resources and am an experienced homeschooler. I help new homeschoolers and each year we put together a resource book with tons of great information for all homeschoolers. My deal is....my poor little wrist get worn out and I know that you all have your "favorites" so...I was hoping to tap into that this year. The homeschoolers get the book for FREE and I don't make a single dime of money from my HOURS of labor. I'd estimate that I spend at least 40-60 hours working and editing on the book. That doesn't include the time that we work with vendors to convince them to advertise with us. I do a lot of the vendor ad design as well as everything else so....it's tons of work for NO pay. The only paycheck I get is of the heart. So.... I was just hoping that will all the great sites we all use here that each of you could send me just one to help me out. Thanks.
Have you already looked at the Favorite Websites thread? http://www.homeschoolspot.com/forumdisplay.php?f=12 It seems as though you could get a lot of what you need from there. Good Luck!
I think she was actually trying to be helpful. There is some great stuff in that fav. thread --I go to it all the time.
Sheila, Here are some of my favorites: "Your link to the latest tech-KNOWLEDGE-y on the web" http://www.4kids.org/ See how many math problems you can answer in 60 seconds---it's FUN! http://www.dep.anl.gov/p_k-12/aattack.htm Fun games, exciting exercises, interactive lessons http://www.dositey.com/ This site is dedicated to learning through crafts and activities. I too have to second a few of the other people. The favorite websites thread is great and chalk full of resources. I think Nellie was trying to be helpful and give you what you want. Sorry that's not what you were looking for. :|
Sheila's been here a long time, and knows about the favorite websites thread, and I'm sure she has looked there. I think she just wanted an up-to-date idea of what people are liking/using right now to kind of capture people's recent favorites for an up-to-date survey thing for her book. Did that make sense?
LOL Maybe. I think Nellie meant well. Personally, all the fave sites I have I've gotten from here anyway --- BookAdventure the one on classical christian homeschooling.... I'm not at home, sorry, don't have my favorites list. rainforest maths the spelling and math sites that were down for a while and are now back up and running edhelper.com letter of the week and the one that i posted with the free preschool bible curriculum... you'l have to search my posts or something for it because I dont' remember the actual site and, like I said, I'm out of town this week and don't have my faves list. LOL Hope you can find some new and exciting sites. have fun and quit stressin.
I'm not stressing I just was looking for some TYPING fingers to help me out so I could do a simple cut & paste and then font format and not have to go to the website and type what it was and all that. It's really not a big deal. Glad you liked the website link. Here are all the ones in last years book. I already deleted the description blurb as they are just going in a small space since...they were last years not this year and are only a reminder of themfor the 07/08 book. Anyway...
