It was just strange, Sherri passed away 2 weeks ago, and her sister Deena from Washington came down. So I was just wondering . . . .

    Moejse,

Thanks...you are so full of information!! It is SOOO helpful. Do you know if they have a sample of their PACE books for people to actually look through? That's the one thing I just feel better about is being able to see it first hand. But, going by everything I am learning, it sounds like this is the way to go for us! (I can call them and see if they have a book I can sample!)

HSing the first year can be so overwhelming it takes ALOT of reseach and learning to be able to change from the "traditional" school thinking to the hs thinking. But I am becoming more secure in it all the time! I think I have finally learned that my kids do not have to do everything the way it is done at the public school...that they will learn just as well, if not more, at home on a more relaxed setting. They are really more secure in themselves than they ever have been!

    Thanks again for the help!

    Blessings,

    Leslie

Leslie, be sure to attend the state conference! I think they have one in Indy. If not, I can give you info on the one in Columbus if you want it. You will pick up so much there, and find answers to questions you never knew you had. I come away every year, charged and with new purpose.

Can you do just one or two classes of ACE, or do you have to do a whole grade curriculum?

    Moesje,

That IS strange! This is not THAT common of a name, and the spelling is not that common either! AND that she came from WA is also interesting! I think I should have a Deena get-together! :) All Deena's are welcome! Heehee. I may be surprised at how many there are. It'd certainly be interesting!

Ohio, or Indiana? If you want info on Ohio's, I can send it to you. For Indiana, I'm not sure. I THINK HSLDA might have that information. They should at least be able to tell you how to get in touch with the state organization, and THEY will tell you when and where. Or you could do a search for your state+homeschool conferences....? Or maybe someone here might know......?

    Syele,

Really? That's funny! That would be kind of fun! A few years back we had a young man friend named Kris, and he hated his name, cuz it's a "cross-over" name, and people would often think he was a girl or something. Maybe he needs to start a website with Kris with a K that are male! :)

There are homeschool conferences held by Alpha Omega and A.C.E. go to their websites and look for the information . . you can also check your phone for private schools that use these curriculums and see if they have information to give you:

You can use ACE to supplement whatever else you are doing, or you can use the whole curriculum for core and electives.

OH yeah Kris, you need to start one with Kris's that start with K that are female. Most times I've seen Ch for males and K for females, so you have the more common spelling, I think.

I know very few Krises with K's, male or female. And those that I do know are really Kristas, or Kristins.

I think we're not going to go wiith ACE, at least for now. We're not sure yet what to do, we could change our minds any minute! :)

One reason is because it looks like you have to buy the parent thing to figure out how to do the program. I want to know what all it involves on my part and my son's part without paying for that. There are enough expenses already, and what if we don't like it, after just reading that info. Seems like they could have more available for free... Also from some of the comments made, I'm not sure we could keep on task well enough. Anyway, we're still looking...

Deena, I have to agree with you 100 percent. I don't like the idea that they make nothing for you to look at. You have to buy a program before they will let you see what you will be doing. You think they would make it easier for us. We are still open to for any and all ideas. Thanks

    Deena and Kris,

Try this website, see if helps. I'm not pushing one way or the other, just trying to give you some options.
