Hello everyone! I am new here. I have been looking for a good homeschooling message board and this one looks really full of information and helpful people. I am a 28 yr old mom from Ohio and this was my first year homeschooling my oldest daughter. We are getting ready to finish up Kindergarten next month and I think it was really successful. We had to make a few minor changes in the middle of the year to accomodate her learning techniques, but she has caught on really quickly to everything she has been taught! I also have two other little girls who are 4 and 1. My middle DD is taking part in our homeschool co-op in the preschool class and just LOVES it! I am so happy for her! I can't wait to get to know you all!
Welcome. We are finishing our third year soon. We started when our girls were in 8th and 3rd grades. I wish we had started from the beginning like you did. Sounds like you had a great year. Glad you joined us. Beth
Welcome! It was my first year to homeschool too and I did 2 in K. My dd who is 6 and my ds who is 5. They have had a ball and it has been a fun time. I have learned a lot this year and feel a lot more confident to begin next year! This board is very helpful and full of lots of great advice
Yes, I have learned a lot this year as well! I started off the school year quite nervous and was wondering if I was doing things right. We are part of a homeschool co-op and spoke to some of the moms there to find out that I was keeping to high of standards for myself. I relaxed a little and just enjoyed it the rest of the year and I think that my DD can feel that. She has excelled since then and I am definitely more confident for first grade and possibly Kindergarten for my middle DD.
