    We are very excited too!

No reservations needed. If we pick a day during the week the crowds should still be small. You can let me know the day. We are done with our 180 days May 18th. We can meet whenever. My hubby is have surgery and will be off work for a few weeks so he will probably come too. He's just a big kid anyway! :p
I have no problem giving you my phone #. I will send you a private e-mail so we can set up a date. We'll have to get in touch with Heidi too.
Vivian has my traveling notebook now and I still havent heard from her. I will send out another e-mail. :)

    A Family Affair

Wow! I don't know if I can get my husband to take the day off work or not! ;) I guess it depends on when we decide to get together.
This is going to be fun!

Girls, we were at Hershey just a few Saturdays ago for the tour, and they are working on a 3D attraction that is right there with the tour. Hopefully it is or will be done for you guys to enjoy!!

The 3-D attraction Becky is talking about is the Really Big 3-D show. (not free) We were just up there today and it was running. Not sure why it wasnt running when Becky was there. It was new for last year. We saw it a couple times. Its pretty good. It gives Miltion Hershey history. They are always adding something new. They just opened something called factory works where you can go threw the assembly line and fill your own bag of chocolate. Kids get their own Hershey hat and ID badge. My mother in law works for Hershey chocolate in the "real" factory. She gets us the new Hershey creations fresh from the factory. My new favorite - the carmel filled Hershey kisses. They melt in your mouth.

Maybe I'm wrong, Crystal, but there were even workmen there the day we went. Maybe it was temporarily closed or something. I didn't look too closely because it was so crowded and I was worried about keeping an eye on my little one. I was surprised at how full it was.

Spring is when the crowds start. Not bad during the week, but by June the place is nuts and stays that way all summer during the week and weekend. The chocolate factory is open year round and its great to go during the winter months, but if you're visiting its nice to go when the amusement park is open - its great!!
I wonder if the construction - when you were there Becky, might have been them changing the movie. I heard they might be doing that. It's a good show. Not just 3-D, but you "feel" things at your feet and when a giant bubble pops you get wet. Its really 3-D. :)

    Crystal,
When I told the girls that we'd be meeting up with some other homeschoolers at the Hershey Chocolate Factory, they couldn't wait! They begged me to take them down yesterday. Well, since we got rid of cable television at our house, we're always looking for cheap entertainment! And, since it was free........we went. We just did the tour, not the 3-D show (but we'd like to see that sometime).
    Can't wait to get together.

Heidi - We were just there on Friday. Did you see the new Factory Works? Looks interesting. How were the crowds when you were there? There was hardly anyone when we were there, but we went around 4 and they close at 5. By the time we meet up there with Jimmie it might be the busy time of year. We might want to pick a day during the week to help cut down on the confuesion. If that works for you all.

We've gone there when we drove around and couldn't find anywhere to park and had to leave! It wasn't that bad on Saturday. It looked crowded, but there were several available parking places. And there was absolutely nobody in the line for the tour ride!
We saw the Factory Works, but there wasn't a sign anywhere (that I saw) saying how much it cost to do it, etc. so I said "maybe next time" (it usually stops the asking!) Older dd really wanted to see the show. I didn't know what it was like; from your description, it sounds like something we'd really enjoy.
A weekday will work just fine for me. Is it a free call for you? I was going to say maybe you could call and ask if there's a day (or days) during the week that don't get as crowded. (I know certain days are often "bus tours", like perhaps Wednesdays, or something). Anyday should suit us fine.

Thats a good idea Heidi. I will call and see if there are less crowded days. I know they do a lot of bus tours. The new factory works I think is $10 a person. Too much for us with our small village of kiddos. We havent done the 3-D movie since last year and I dont remember the price of that, but it was really good. I will get back to you all when I get a hold of someone and see if there is a day better for crowd control.

    $70 for some kisses?!

Don't you just get Hershey's kisses in the Factory Works? If so, it would be a much better deal for you to just buy a bag of them and divide them 7 ways! LOL
The 3-D show, if my memory serves me right, is $5.95 for adults and $3.95 for kids (4-12). All the shows on the board were showing as "available" when we were there the other day. So, if we'd be interested in doing that, I doubt if it would be sold out on a weekday.
Let us know if you find anything else out.
    Thanks~
    Heidi
