Rats! Sorry Sheila, don't think I can afford that (It all weighs 52 pounds!). Hmmmm, wonder what I should do with it then..... I'll just try to find something locally. Thanks Jen for running the numbers, you're a dear!!

Ok I know I am sooo late but, I haven't been on here in a couple of days ( I've been preparing for our first year of homeschooling) anyway, I am so happy for you and your family. God is amazing. Enjoy!!
Ihavent been around in a few days but wanted to say Praise God for your blessing!!! Your kids are adorable in the picture with your blessing! I too agree on the Pay it forward, no matter how bad things get here sometimes I always remember that somewhere there are others with less than us or in much worse situations. I am very blessed to know we have a roof over our heads and all the necessities of life..we always drop our change into the buckets at xmas time(cant tell you how many years salvation army has helped with xmas around here), always donate to charity even if its a pair of old shoes etc..I know Im doing our part, or at least I hope Im doing my part!
Deena: I know last year when I order a bunch of used books from a lady on line here. She had me pay for the shipping only for them. I will tell you she mailed them in several different boxes and it was cheaper that way. Jen, How do you like your so school books? the life pac's?
Nice. I love these moments when they occur and they make you realize (at the time that it is truly needed) that there are good people that God puts in your path. And these moments make one very grateful.
I've thought of that, Kris. Not sure how to find someone to pay $35 for them! A lot of them are teacher's books, so I can't put them on ebay. If you hear of anyone that wants some 10th grade Bob Jones books, let me know. There are teachers editions and students texts...They can have them for the shipping cost!
This story is just amazing and wonderful! Jen thanks so much for sharing with us. It's so awesome to see God working in the lives of His children.
WOW! Deep breath.... I just read this whole thread, start to finish. Amazing! It took me a while, but I'm so glad I did. I know this happened a while back, but Jen, I'm so glad A.) you were cautious B.) everything turned out well and C.) you have a great curriculum to use! Plus, I've been inspired with ideas on helping others. Have you all seen those commercials recently where it tracks a whole sequence of seemingly unrelated people who are affected positively by the actions or even just seeing the kind actions of others? Not sure what company its for, but my hubster says it was an investment/financial group. Aside from PBS we watch very little TV, but this commercial caught my eye, and this thread brought it to mind. We may never know how far reaching our random acts of kindness will travel.
