I am a Christian, homeschooling mom of 4. My children are 10, 8, 7, and 5. The youngest is my only girl! I just found this site, after moving to a new city and not having the support I'm used to. Currently, my 8 year old, second grader, is in his first semester at public school (started right after we moved), but the others are homeschooling. Long story, but pretty much he begged and I caved. The others have no desire to go to PS, and love homeschooling. So far, PS seems like it has been working out for my 2nd grader. He is making perfect grades, lots of friends, the teacher raves about him and he is the lead in the school play (premiers tomorrow!) She even told him that he has shown everyone that "smart is cool." Needless to say, she was shocked to hear that he had never been in a public school! I love it when the system acknowledges how great homeschooling can be! My oldest son is an elite athlete training 35+ hrs per week, so he is surrounded by homeschoolers and serious athletes daily. Right now, I am pulling tons of different material to make our curriculum. I love to read, and focus a lot on that for the kids. So, Hello everyone and I look forward to getting some new ideas and opinions! Have a blessed day! :love:E
Welcome! So glad you found us. We live an a very rural area and this site has been such a blessing to me through the years.
Thank you all for the warm welcome! My oldest son, 10 plays soccer. He's in a residential soccer school (but he lives at home and we homeschool instead of doing the boarding school with the program), we moved here to be close so he wouldn't have to live away. My middle boys do boxing and mixed martial arts, and my little girl does gymnastics. So far, I am really enjoying the discussions and topics in the forum!
