Welcome to all of our homeschool friends! This is a place for you to share ideas and discussion about homeschooling. For those of you visiting from abcteach, I hope you enjoy your stay while you are waiting for the forums there to reopen.
Thank you Thanks Amanda, I see some abcteach alumni have made it over. I appreciate all you do. Sandy abcteach
Amanda.... I read the tips and I didn't really seen an answer to my question. Do I need to turn some preference on to show the messages read/unread or new? Other than the most recent post moving that thread to the top ...is there some way of flagging what I is new? Thank you once again for allowing us to be guests here! TinaTx
Tina, if you are registered, when you get to the forums page, you will see "View New Messages". Click that each time you come and you will see only what hasn't been previously viewed. Once you are in a thread, use the feature that sends you to the first unread message (top left of first post).
Thank you Upsadaisy! I'll take all of us some time to figure out how all the nice *gadgets* work.. This is a very useful tip for us as our threads a lot of times tend to be very voluminous. We are a chatty bunch! BTW we just love ps teachers! Thanks again for the welcome! Blessings TinaTx
If you are only interested in Homeschool posts, I think it will be more simple for you to come into the Homeschool forum rather than viewing all new posts from the forum index. Since the forum just reopened today, ALL of the messages are new, so that's why you couldn't see a difference. Once there are more posts, the threads/topics containing new posts will have a little blue arrow in front of the title, and will move to the top of the list. The threads/topics that do not have new replies will not have the blue arrow next to the title. You can click the blue arrow to go to the first unread post within a thread/topic, or you can just click on the title to view the entire post from the top. I hope this helps! I'm going to copy this to the Guidelines & Tips Forum.
Amanda... YES YES this DOES help! I know at times my time on line is limited so quite often I do come straight to the homeschooling forum and want to see what is new, instead of read all the forum posts. You are absolutely right However, today I DO see the difference. I finally see some threads with the blue arrow and some without. Everyone said read the guidelines, I did, but I still didn't see that part of it. lol Thank you for posting it!
