Does anyone know if an adoption has to be finalized before a child is transitioned to homeschooling?

We have friends who adopted children prior to reaching school age. But what happens when you adopt an older child and want to transition them?

I certainly want to be sensitive to disrupting a kid's routine too much, but want to get ahead of the game if it makes sense with a child if we're able to adopt.

I have a few friends who adopted. They could not privately homeschool until the adoption was final. This is in California, I do not know how other states operate. Once the adoption was final, they pulled their children out of the system to homeschool.

Depends on how you are adopting. If you are adopting through foster care, then they want children in public school. If you are privately adopting that's a different situation, and could depend on the agency or if you are doing a private one from the parents directly it would depend on the parents.
