I am excited and apprehensive. Why? My son is getting his first job (pending a drug test) and it is full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00.

It is going to make homeschooling this last semester a little strange. I am glad we only have one semester left. Also this job will count for some of his school. Heck they do that in schools, why not in homeschool?

The really cool thing is that this job is in a field that he is passionate about. It will be working with a company that makes and sells scopes and other gun related items and I believe they are expanding to sell guns also. They are opening a new store later this year or early next year.

    Yeah!!

I think it is fantastic he is getting a chance to work in his desired field while still in school. It will be great for him to know if this is what he really wants to do in life and what the path needs to be to achieve that goal. My guess is he will do very well managing school and work and hey that's "real" life. I worked full time all the way through college. It took me longer to graduate but I graduated debt free that way.

Absolutely he should be able to count work as part of schooling -- he'll be training to do this job, and OJT is apprenticeship, right? I can see where the schedule will make it a little tough to do schoolwork at home, but it will all work out!

    My congrats to you both!
