To embed a pic to a thread: If you want to post a pic within a thread, go to the bottom of your New thread and select attachment, then browse your computer, select the pic you want to attach, then upload. Send the message and Viola!
The pictures can either be on another website or just on your hard drive. Click "Go Advanced" at the bottom of your post. Scroll down to "Manage Attachments". Notice that your picture has to be in one of the formats listed. When you click the "Manage Attachments" button it will tell you how big the picture can be. If the picture is on a website, type the URL on the line and click "upload." If the picture is on your computer, click "Browse", find the picture (I often move them to the desktop to make them easy to find) and click on the name, and then click "Upload." It should show the pictures name in the window when it is done. Then click "save", and then back in your original window, click "Submit Reply."
Marylyn, it's not working! I click on manage attachments, and then browse. I click on the picture I want, and the file comes up in the window. But when I click on UPLOAD, the page comes up "Page cannot be displayed". It's the same page I get when I try to go to a link that is no longer available or is down temporarily. That's why Carl feels its not with our computer. But others seem to be doing it with no trouble.....
The pictures need to be no bigger than 620 pixels wide and 280 pixels high, AND they need to be no bigger than 97.7KB - which is 97700 bytes. That takes a bit of playing with sometimes. I use Corel Photo-Paint to edit pictures, but any of the programs work fairly similarly. PM me if you need help figuring out how to resize your pics.
Check this out.... The physical size of the photo is irrelevant. The file size is all that matters. And the file size actually has to be no larger that 19KB, which is considerably less than 97kb. To prove the point, I made this photo at 700 x 300 pixels, larger than the limits you suggested, but I also compressed it to 18kb, to keep it within range. Now, Jackie. I am going to PM youmay email address. Please send the photo you want to share to the email address I send you. Let me see what I can figure out.
This photo file is HUGE in physical size, but only 7kb in file size. SO, I know that her physical size of her photo is no causing the problem....
If you are getting a "Page cannot be displayed" message, you may actually be having a conflict of programs... You may have an anti-virus program that seems to think the page is on it's "Dangerous" list. (Some programs do that because you are transferring information, but most have a setting to allow for uploads. Maybe the build in protection from your internet provider? I know that when I had dial up I had to call them to turn off the spam filters so that I could get the email off my domain. I am racking my brain, but this is fun, so let's not give up. I say, whoever figures it out, gets to have everyone else "Wear" their avatar for a week! hahaha!
Carl re-sized things for me. I'm trying that.... I think it took! Here..... Thanks, guys!!! That did it! (Now to get Carl to sit down and explain EXACTLY what he did! He's not like you, Jen! He assumes I know EVERYTHING that he knows, lol!)
I tried putting a photo up and got an error message, obviously they are too large. I will work on it and try to post later. Jackie- That blanket tied up is a great idea. What do you have it tied to?
There's two ropes. One has knots on it for the kids to climb, and the other is suppose to be a ladder, but the rungs have fallen off. The other two corners are tied to the beams.
