the email address I signed on with is my "spam" address, which I don't check often. when I checked today, I had a ton of emails regarding responses to threads I have posted on. I tried to find how I can change this so I don't get emails about posts. I'm sure it's right in front of me, but I can't find it!
Go to User CP, settings and options, edit options, and go down to messaging and notification. It gives you different options. I hope this helps! I know that several of the gals are better at wording this than I am!
thank you. I did as you said (it was worded perfectly!) but my options were already set to not receive emails...hmmm
i believe the option you may need to change (i just discovered these emails piling into my email as well LOL ) is in your CP, under "edit options" ..scroll down below the "receive email" options and you'll see a box labeled as "Default Thread Subscription Mode" ...if you set that to "no email notification" in the dropdown menu and then SAVE (make sure you go all the way to the bottom and save after you change it, or it won't take) those emails should stop coming.
aha! i checked another thread in here dealing with the same topic and now i get it (the rest) .. the emails that are still coming are the threads that already landed on my subscribed list... since they'd already made it there, changing the sub options didn't remove them.. has to be done by hand. makes sense now :lol:
Yep, you also have to go unsubscribe to all the threads you already participated in. If you turned off email notification, you won't automatically be subscribed to any threads from that point on. I think I need to go make no notification the default and then people can turn it on if they want it. Now I just need to find where to make that change. Hmmmm...
