Doesn't this sound inticing??? Anyway, I'm wondering if any of you resourceful women out there no of where I can look online for a black and white picture of an ice cream cone and then scoops of ice cream to go in it. We're doing a challenge with one of the youth ministries at church (AWANA) - if each child in the older elementary group (T&T) gets 10 sections in their books signed off (over a five week period), our (brave) Commander has said that she will dye her hair (to whatever color the children want it  )!!!! Anyway, I was thiinking of a fun way to keep track of it so they can see how close they are to achieving their goal - an empty cone would represent the beginning of the contest and then they would have one scoop of ice cream added for each section signed off. EACH child has to have at least 10 sections signed off or the Commander won't dye her hair so we really want to make it fum for them and do something so they can see how they are progressing (and they're learnign scripture while they're doing this). We'd love any ideas you have... Brenda
Hi Brenda, First school has icecream cones in there pre-school craft section http://www.first-school.ws/activities/alpha/i/icecreamcone.htm Just adding this on the same sight might be better http://www.first-school.ws/activities/crafts/colors/icecreamcone2.htm Jo from Australia
Found some (thank you)! The gym wall at the Chruch is plastered with these things. We're in week four of the five week challenge. We have 21 children participating in the challenge and cumulatively they have said 170 sections in the four week period so far. Some are really close to achieving the goal, some have met or exceeded the goal while a couple still have some work to do (with encouragement they can do it). This challenge has been a blast. It was suggested last week that if they couldn't do it, I should have to dye my hair (because I'm having too much fun with it) The children like that idea and wanted me to dye my hair PINK! As long as I have a phone (again), I will make sure they achieve the goal so I dont' have to dye my hair - could be tense... Brenda
