I need idea's for a year end celebration of some type for kindergarten. My daughter has friends that are in ps and get recognition. I would like to do something for her so she is not left out. Or is that just silly. Thank you, tandy
It's only silly if you and dd think it's silly. I personally think it's fun for kids to get to do some of the *public school* traditions. Why not? Our homeschool group is having an end of year pizza tour & party the end of May. Woo Hoo! Do most of us plan to school during the summer - Yep. BUT...it's fun and we like fun things! At the beginning of the school year TinaTX had told me some of the things she had done in years past. Great ideas, SIMPLE, but will be sooo much fun later on. We stamped his hand print, his foot print, measured him, drew a life like picture of him on big paper. (He stood against the wall that I had put the paper up on and then I traced around him.) Took his picture standing in front of our school tree. Fun silly things that we did for about the first week *of school*. I will probably do some of the same things at the end of May and then at the end of August we will do them again. Why? BECAUSE IT'S FUN!!!!
I agree with Sheila..We did something fun for my K son. It was just a family thing, but nevertheless he was tickled. I had pictures of him with graduation cap and gown. I didn't know where to start to look for one,but I tell you if I had to order one, or ship one in from another country (LOL), he was gonna have one because older brother had one and it was important to him. Well just turned out that the photographer that I used that takes the best pictures in town, was a homeschooler! I couldn't believe what a valuable help he turned out to be. He took all the pictures of the local private schools each year. Hence he got to know all the teachers,etc real well. He gave me a phone number of one of his nice clients and she let me borrow a cap and gown for free. Only for the cost of drycleaning afterwards. So we took formal pictures of him in cap and gown. I presented him with a certificate when grandma, grandpa, and his cousins were over. He wanted a chocolate cake too. So I ordered him one from HEB, and he got money from grandma/grandpa. He told me it was the best graduation ever! (LOL) I also had wanted to put an ad in the newspaper, so he could have something to save. But my time got by me and I didn't get to. I might save this idea for another time or occasion. I would do something if its important to you and your daughter.
