I have been very busy selling things on ebay - Yes, I was still selling on that monster of a place.

Anyway, I had listed 107 things, and they removed them because I listed an A Beka Language and Grammer teacher book.

Do they realize it took me a whole day to list them and there were bids on them too. I am done with ebay. If I could I would go through this computer and wring someones neck:twisted:

I also checked out some of the other questionable things on ebay - adult art??? yes, pornography, Adult toys:eek:, yep, no further description is needed, but they will not allow me to sell teacher editions!!!

Sorry so long, but I do have some things for sale if any one is interested, please pm me.

Tell them that's fine. Total up how much you would have sold them all for, and let them know that HSLDA and Homeschool Classifieds will be glad to have your business. Let them know EXACTLY how much business they're losing.

I honestly believe that homeschoolers have really dropped the ball on this issue. They haven't been willing to stand together and refuse to do business with ebay. If they did, I know ebay would change their tune!

I really understand your fustration but teachers books are listed as a prohibited item. The reason that was explained to me was that some kids were buying the books and cheating. What most homeschoolers do is group it and list it as a homeschool package. I guess that is away of side stepping the rule. They do not seem to worried about homeschool kids buying the textbooks. I have gotten a few things from ebay and that is how they have listed them.

I really think they should have contacted you first to give a warning and allowed you to change or delete certain ones instead of wiping everything. That is a little much.

    Hi Ohio Mom :)

I'm really sorry to hear that happened to you. I remember looking for cirriculum on ebay. I found a couple of interesting cirruculums and I asked a general question if teacher's edition were available along for purchase because I didn't see not one T.E. Out of the 3 sellers I asked one of them replied saying that it was against ebay's policy to sell teacher's edition and that I would have to go to her personal website to purchase seperately. I thought that just didn't make sense to me and that the ebay policy sucked. Anyways they could have at least been kind enough to let you know before you did all that work. I'm sorry about your experience.

    Sincerely
    Anna

I wrote them and told them that I would not sell or buy anything else from them and to close my account.

Good idea, Jackie, I will let them know how much they are going to lose. I am also closing my Paypal account. I just registered on Craigslist.com. I will just set a price and get rid of these books.

I was trying to make some money to pay off some bills and POW!!!! I was shut down, not for long. I will list the school material that I have later if anyone is interested.

Anna, they took everything off even if it wasn't TE's. They were reading books, children's VHS videos, children's board books, children's picture books, Hooked on Phonics, Hooked on Math, children's CD's. I was very frustrated. They took all 107 auctions off. I had 18 of them selling for $55.75. Some were even done within the hour.

Wow, I didn't know anything about the TE rules and I recently sold an A Beka math curriculum, complete with TE. Oops.

I guess that helps to explain why I'm not seeing as much homeschool stuff on there as I used to. I noticed that there were fewer bids on my auction and I didn't sell it for as much as I had hoped to too. Oh well, there are other options from now on.

So sorry ebay did that to you. That was bad business on their part!

I hear you, and I know you're right in that they are "forbidden", but the reason is a bunch of B.S. They're so concerned about children getting the answers? PLEASE!!! But they're not concerned about those same children getting hold of sex toys or porn!

Jackie, I agree with you. I have the TE's here and if Elijah wants to get them, he can. I don't put them away, just keep them away from his school room. Porn and adult toys, they are not even in my house, but if he wanted to look them up he can. He would need my password to buy TE's or adult porn and adult toys, Dah!!!!

Ds had dealings with ebay. It is our understanding that an item (s) can be brought to ebays attention. One, they randomly check out auctions and two, other ebayers can bring an item to their attention.

If they dont allow te's they should have contacted you and if need be, remove the item. I don't feel removing all of your items was appropriate.

I think ebay has grown so large that they step on the little guys' toes without regard for whether or not they lose money.

Idea, our local news has a news tip area on their web site. Have you thought about contacting your local new station regarding this issue? Most companies don't like the attention this can bring and they change their ways.

Have you thought about listing them on Vegsource? Things seem to go pretty fast over there.

Oh surely they won't charge her listing fees after pulling all the listings -- would they?

I don't use e-bay anymore either. It is too big and there are too many professional e-bayers; it isn't the common man's auction anymore. It's a shame, because it started out to be a good thing.

That happened to me once, too. Except they only pulled that one auction; not all of mine. It still ticked me off. What they did to you really stinks.

Why do we have to be penalized because some kids cheat? And what are kids doing buying things on ebay anyway...don't you have to be a certain age to register? I mean, come on...even if a kid managed to buy something, what parent wouldn't demand to know what was inside if their kid got a surprise package, then when asked about it they say "Oh, that's something I bought on ebay..."

    Honestly...
