I'm new here and haven't posted much, but I have been reading the boards for a couple months now.

Anyway, I know I've seen a couple of threads about laminators, so I thought I would let you all know that Costco has one that is selling for $18.99.

It is a Purple Cow one. However, it is not purple. It is the black model and it comes with 100 laminating pouches I believe. I will check that out tomorrow. That sounds like a lot, but I'm sure I read 100. It also does both hot and cold laminating.

I'll let you know what I think of it after I use it. I just got it tonight. I thought I saw where someone on this board had it and liked it, so I thought I'd give it a try. It sells for about twice that on Amazon and for $18.99 you really can't go wrong. Plus, if I don't like it, Costco will take it back no questions asked.

I really wanted the Scotch one since I've heard it is really good. I missed the Gold Box deal Amazon had a while back and was bummed.

Anyway, if you want a laminator and have a Costco nearby, then you might give it a try.

Please, let me know what you find out. Our Costco is 2.5 hrs. away, it would cost to much in gas to go get it, not to mention, I don't have the time.

I looked on the Costco website and I couldn't find it anywhere, so I am assuming it is just in the store right now. I'm not sure, but some times you can all their customer service number and ask about it even though they don't show it on-line. Their cs is really nice.

The only place I found it was on Amazon and I am thinking that is the same one. It might not be. It looks like it. My box has 3015C on it. I am assuming it is the model #. As far as the laminating pouches go, I was right, it does have 100 3 mil pockets. 40 8 1/2x 11 hot pockets, 30 4x6 hot pockets, and 30 3x5 hot pockets.

I will see if I can find the actual one listed somewhere. If you don't have a membership at Costco or it's a bit away, maybe you have a friend or relative that has one close. I actually, have both a Sam's and a Costco membership. I had the Sam's one first and tried out Costco because they had a playground we wanted to buy, so we got a membership. I'm glad we did because I really haven't ever had to pay for it. Well, I pay for it up front, but if you get the executive membership they give you cash back at the end of the year. They send you a check and we spend a lot there with groceries and such that it always pays for itself.

I'd go get one for everyone, but not sure the price would be worth it after I shipped it around the country. I'm in Missouri, I'm not sure where everyone else is located.

Like I said, I still haven't actually used it. I've got to get me a bunch of things I want to laminate and practice.

I wanted to mention that if you are not a costco memeber you can still buy things through them but you will pay 10% more than the members will pay.

I finally got around to using my laminator. I thought it was great. It worked better than I'd hoped. The directions aren't the best, but after I gave it a look over, it wasn't hard to figure out. I haven't tried the cold laminator part because it didn't come with the cold pouches, but I can't imagine that it would be much different.

I think someone else on here said that they had the Purple Cow laminator. Can you use other types of pouches or do you have to use their brand? I know sometimes a product will say that you need to use their brand, when in fact others will work. I really don't have to worry about it for a while either way because I think it will take me a while to go through 100 pouches. I like it so well that I'm searching around for things to laminate. lol
