Vicki has used Math U See for the past few years. She is in Zeta. She loves it. My question is has anyone used the Pre Algebra on up. Is it still a good curriculum? I didn't take Algebra and all that in school. It was not required. I will be learning this along with her. My brother took it all. He can do it but he doesn't do like they do. I'm just wondering for next year.

We're only up to Delta ourselves, so I'll be interested to hear what anyone says as well. I may go check on Homeschool Reviews to see if there is anything on the upper levels.

We just started pre-algebra this week, so I don't have an opinion yet. I went clear through calculus in high school, so I'm at least familiar with anything he'll be doing. My kids have used MUS all the way so far, and I have complete confidence in the program. :)

Is the whole thing just printed black and white? I had this image of the product being colorful. You know, math--you see! lol I looked at the sample and it just looked really boring. Like Singapore.... I am thinking about this for my 5yo. Why are so many HS supplies all printed B/W??

The black and white thing is helpful in some circumstances. I tend to like color also, but we are trying math u see this year. The good thing is the video helps a lot, although they could probably jazz that up a little also.

The other thing is the block and fraction overlays. This gives a very colorful visual example of how math works.

Algebra and up are black and white at least, but the video is what makes it easy.

In the Primer (and maybe Alpha???) the kids color the pages themselves, so that makes it fun. Dd used glitter crayons for hers and it was great! The blocks of course add color, but my kids never missed it later on. It actually helps my Ds with TS to not have lots of distracting visual stimulus going on.

Just want to say that I find B/W to be very helpful for 6yo who is very distractable. He didn't take to flashy websites like Starfall and such. Turned out, he didn't even really like it that much. He liked to watch the ABC portion because of the cartoons/songs but it got old quick.

In the end, TRL got him reading and once he'd started that book, THEN he was able to make sense of/follow along with things like Between the Lions, and other Learn To Read movies and such.

4yo also seems to prefer B/W for reading. He doesn't mind colorful pages in a math workbook but for 6yo they are still distracting.
