Thanks Jackie!!! Still debating but at least it'll be available by the time we're done with SL Core 3 (whenever that is).

OK!!! *I* finally got through, Deena, and I'm blaming it on YOU!!! (Honestly, I got through right away.) When I gave my address as Ohio, she asked, "And have you voted yet today?" I did order a complete set, and just before I was going to hang up, I realized that I hadn't ordered THREE activity books! Am so glad I remembered before I hung up! Oh, and I also asked her what the latest on MOH 3 was; she said hopefully this May.

I guess we weren't talking about Notgrass on here. I couldn't find it...oh well.......

Okay, I finally got around to showing my dh the Notgrass History stuff. He said to go for it if I feel that's what's best! COOL! :D

So now I'm wondering which levels to do when, since he'll be in 10th grade next year when he starts it. I s'pose I COULD order it now and go through it all from when we get it, and on through the summer. But then I'd be cutting off what he's doing for History now....

Jackie, why are you doing it in the order you are---because of the chronological order?

TMom, how's it going with your dd?

Now that I have the green light, I want to find out all I can about it, and order it. I looked around and didn't see any used. Have you guys seen it used?

I've seen it used on Vegsource, Deena! World or US?

We're doing US right now, this year and next with All-American. That will be 8th and 9th for Rachael. After that, I figure she'll want a break from US, and so I will put her in Notgrass World on her own. My younger two will be doing MOH 3. Then the next year, Rachael will do Notgrass US, not sure about the younger two. Then we'll do Notgrass Government possibly her Senior year, though it's only a half-year course. Or maybe do a co-op class on Christian World View.

I'm thinking World, for the same reason as you stated. He loves World History, so maybe that'll keep him going well. Course, he just loves history.

Actually, the American History would go well with what we've been studying so that would be okay too. Then he'd have World the next year, to give him a break from American, and do the government one after that. That's probably sort of mixed up though?

Anyway, if you see either World or American, let me know!

my dd is doing good, she is into her second book and we are into a pattern of working that is lazy but caused me to work harder now! She was so tired for a while it got boring she said, but that was when it was read read and she was not doing her written assignments, so now I am having her do extra work AND assigning her the work in her book, instead of allowing her to choose like we started out.
IF you are starting with grade 10 you would start with the World History. IT is soooo good! Thats what we are doing. Church history was very interesting, we did the begining first and all that, but it colorfully goes through the times of the world as well, She was in the Renasaunce time and this week is studying on Martain Luther and other 'church' beginings. I had her write out notes and answer some questions and she really enjoyed it so I may ask the people at Notgrass to add that into thier lessons more... suggesting to take notes while they read etc, I am thinking of the students who will do this totaly independant of a parents help of course,
over all it is very good curriculuim, but it has not taken us 3 hours since the beginging/ I can see how it would as we continue to add research time to our projects suggested and as I make her look up the Bible verses though. I will keep updating!

Thanks TMom, I'm hoping it'll work with ds.

I found the American History by Notgrass on Vegsource Jackie! DH and I had decided to get just the school books, not the reading books. We have a couple of them, and most we could get at the library. This set for sale on Vegsource, though, has EVERYTHING, for a little less than the price I would pay for just the schoolbooks and quizzes/tests. So I e-mailed her that I was interested. We'll see if I get a reply and how much shipping will be, etc.
