Well I just sealed the deal with history/science/bible all in one. I have had a love/hate with Preparing this year and was going to continue on but I really wanna do school altogether with my kids so I just ordered the Deluxe Package for Exploring Countries and Cultures to use with my children who will be K,1st and 5th.

I think it I had found MFW when we started homeschooling, I would have used it all the way through at least 8th grade. We didn't and have used Sonlight which is wonderful in a different way....now I've got Cores to pass down to the younger kids so it doesn't make sense to switch at least until we run out of SL Cores...lol.

I would be curious to know the love hate relationship you have with Preparing. Unless it's purely due to combining, I'd love to hear your review. I have only one child, so the combining aspect isn't relevant for me. :D

    YAY!!!

    We're doing ECC next year with a 6th, 4th & Ker. :)

We've never used MFW before. I haven't bought all the materials yet b/c they are coming to our local convention and I want to see if they're offering convention specials before I buy. I've bought some of the supplementary things. (found a few of the YWAM books at a used book sale, t hen got 2 more for $6.99 right from them...so I only need one more).

Anyway....it sounds like a few folks will be doing this...looking forward to us sharing our experiences!

I really enjoyed Preparing and so did my daughter. I also liked their Little Hands and Bigger and almost bought the next one, CTC but it's the combination thing. I been trying to add my son with my oldest for history/science and it hasn't been easy. HOD was good when I was just teaching the oldest. If I stuck with HOD I'd be using three guides and hubby and I agreed to make things a little easier for me next year since we will be gone most of the time. I decided to go with MFW because it's geared more for multi ages. HOD has an age range but not as wide at MFW. I have looked at MFW a few years ago but I has already had HOD but we have already done ancients and some other topics in the next guide so it's another reason for the change.
