Has anyone named their homeschool? If so, what is the name, how'd you come up with that name? Does anyone have a mascot for their homeschool and if so what is it? Also, does anyone make up T-shirts, sweatshirts, what have you for their homeschool?
This is one of those things that c omes up every now and then! My children attend The Way of Wisdom Homeschool. No t-shirts or anything though, but I have an idea for a logo if I ever want one!
My girls and their older sister named us Sloan Academy. Our colors are green and gold and they are the suns. We have tee shirts but not sweatshirts. We are going to get hoodies made for next year. My sister found a lady who will embroider them for us. They picked that name because we were given a list of things you could not include in your name and things you shouldn't include. We decided to just go with something we knew would not be a problem.
We named ours, its easier to fill in forms that ask for school name. Apple Tree Elementry. I made every one green shirts with painted apples, A very small apple has their first initial so that we know which one belongs to whom.
In our state we have to name our homeschool. Three Sisters' Academy We have designed an emblem for fun, but have never done anything with it.
We don't have to have a name, but when there was a thread on this awhile back (a couple of years ago), we decided to pick a name. I love lighthouses, and we ended up with Lighthouse Christian Academy. Our them is being a light to the world. I had t-shirts made when I saw a company that had set up in our mall at Christmas. They have a light house, the name of the school and the Bible verse.
Ours is Heier Learning Academy. Heier is pronounced Higher. Heier is my MIL 's maiden name. No shirts , motto or mascot but I do use a letterhead of our school when I correspond with companies for promotions relating to homeschooling.
I'm not creative.... We were using Calvert when we first started and so I simply called us Calvert Academy. Mom started putting our own together and I came up with C & N Elementary since that is the first initial of each kid. I then took a photo of our house and then put some special effects on it and....if I ever need a logo I have one but...I never need a logo.
Okay you guys have given me a great project for dd10. We don't have a name or shirts or anything but I love the idea. I think I am going to have dd10 come up with a name and design a logo and then we can have shirts made. I think she'd love to do this.
I'm with Tiffany...I think this would make a great project! My son was asked by a kid at church which school he went to and he said,"Home Elementary" lol.... the replied that maybe his mom will move by us so they can attend together. LOL. I think they will love coming up with a name and mascot and colors....woohoo...how cool.
Do any of you go as far as writing a mission statement? I have been thinking about doing that and letting my girls think it through with me and write it together. I don't know. What do you think? My girls are 8 and 14.
We haven't done that, but it's not a bad idea. I'm not sure exactly what to put in a mission statement though...
I have been trying to come up with a name for our school and can't decide on one. I want to have a motto also. A Bible verse. The names I have come up with are For Him Christian School Jesus first christian School Kids of the King Christian School Bible Way Christian School They may be cheesy but I like them. Angela
