    Hey Gals,
I could use some help, pretty please. We are doing a topic on organization next month for our new homeschoolers. I am in need of photo's of how different people organize different things in their home. This is from your classroom supplies to your game & linen closets.

I promise not to use your name in any way with the photo's. I know some people are like ewwww I don't want people to see my messy _____________.

I need photos whether or not you think it is a cool or neat idea. Meaning I just need for others to see different ways they can store the kids pencils & pens. Pretty please. Begging included if needed. ;) My husband said it best..."just because I think it's nothing special doesn't mean that it doesn't shine a light for someone else".

Please email the photos to me off loop at info@hsiz.org

    Thanks a million!!!!

    See people do need help.

Well....appleOmyeye I can't seem to get ANYONE to send me ANYTHING. :( I can get all sorts of photos from the Office Max & office depot but...they don't show them actually being used.

Yes...I'm stretching for some guilt laying on each of you. ;) I need to have the photos by this week so I can put them together for our meeting on the 12th.

Please send me things. You guys I want these new homeschoolers to feel like just because it doesn't look like the desk from the Container Store and all picture perfect organization books that it's not going to work for them. lol We are real life lived in households.

    Pretty please...send photos. info@hsiz.org

All of my organizing stuff is pretty basic. I have 6 bookshelves ranging in all sizes scattered through the room. One is for the kids "locker/cubby hole". Another for recent and upcoming books with the paperbacks contained in baskets. Games, art/crafts supplies, office stuff, unused textbooks and paper are scattered on the other ones.

Okay She, Not sure exactly what you wanted, but I took and sent in a picture. It's nothing much, cuz ours is pretty basic also, but I guess it's SOMEthing! ;) I used to have baskets and stuff with craft things and crayons, etc. when my kids were littler, but now this is where we're at.

I would love to help but I do not have a digital camera yet. If my dh doesn't work this weekend, we are going to best buy, he says....

I use my breakfast nook as a llittle schoolroom. It contains all my supplies and a table. However, we still end up using the dining room table....its bigger.

I am in the process of trying to send pictures. Not sure if you wanna use them. This is organized for me but not for others. I am the queen of bins and a keeper of the lost closet (under the stairs). I don't have a pic of the bookshelf. It's in the bedroom and my toddlers are sleeping.

I'm going to try to send pics. I'm still figuring out this new computer, so it may be late this weekend. I'll try to post here, too, if I can figure that out.

    Homeschooler06,
I received your emails and emailed you back. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH, gals!!!!

Please please keep them coming. I am putting together a workshop type format that will last about 2 hours and so I need all the photos you can provide.

We have gals that have children that range from a only child who is 3 (she's real excited) to those in highschool that have pulled their kids out of ps. So...all photos are appreciated. I just know that the fancy catalogs of buy my organization stuff doesn't take into consideration that we have more junk than the 3 things they are showing. ROFL

You gals ROCK and I appreciate you sooo very much!

    Kris,
I'm looking for everything. In your case space is a at a high price so...where do you store your supplies? Some gals live in small spaces and I'd love to show them some of your solutions. Please send them :) info@hsiz.org

    Hooray! Thanks Ohio G-ma!!!

I'm smack in the middle of totally rearranging our dining room/homeschool room, but (if and) when I get it done, I'll be sure to take pics (I'm hoping today or tomorrow).:D

We weren't maximizing our space as far as homeschooling and I realized I'm never going to sew regularly unless I have my machine and supplies permanently set up in a dedicated space just for sewing...the perimeter of our dining room! This new "space" will also serve as space and storage for scrapbooking too, which ALSO never gets done because digging for supplies is too frustrating and time-consuming, then if I DO manage to get everything laid out but not quite complete, I have to put it all away again and maybe look for it again a year later.

I had to make a compromise w/ myself. One side of me always wants my home to look like Pier 1 or Pottery Barn, "in case" we have company. Well, we NEVER entertain and I realized it's silly not to arrange our house the way that works for us. I know that sounds like common sense, but it has ALWAYS been a major hurdle for me to overcome. So, with my dh's encouragement, I finally gave myself permission to do it! Wooo hooo!!

Good deal! Send me photos when you finish.

Remember I'm not limited to school room stuff. Send photos of where you store games, dvd's, videos, kitchen pantry, bathroom towels, hair care, etc...

We home school in our HOME not just our school. ;)

Thanks so much!!! You gals are awesome!

    Sheila,
I've been trying to send a email with my photos, but I keep getting error messages through outlook. I also tried posting here, but can't get that to work either. I can't seem to get the photos small enough.

BTW... you don't really want to see my linen closet. This is an old house and the "closet" is actually a cabinet that towels will barely fit into. No pantry here. How I miss the pantry in our old house!

I tend to be an organization nut, but God blessed me with a hubby that's the complete opposite, so I've had to learn to adjust. I love storage boxes and organized all my kids toys in them with labels. I also use lots of baskets to hold things... shoes, dress-up clothes, dolls, etc. That doesn't mean they always put them where I want them. :)

Apple, if money were no object, my house would come straight from the Pottery Barn catalog, right down to all the organization bins. Fortunately, we have an outlet near here, and occasionally you can find really good deals. (My sofa came from there.)

I just rearranged so I could have a set place to scrapbook too, cuz I just wasn't getting around to it! I'll try to get a picture of it, but it's not very amazing or anything. It's just nice to finally have that space. now I get to use that space starting next week!

She, we store things under our RV in storage container. I have two small filing cabinets where I put books in. Under our bed we store all the movies.

    Pam,
Don't shrink the photos too much. ;)

Try sending just one and see what happens. What is the error you get?

PM me and tell me what your email is and let me see if I can fix it on my end - if that is where the trouble is.

Yeh...I married someone that was a paper stacked desk guy and I wasn't. Well.....now I can't even see my desk. It's getting better but..I have so many different areas that need desk work that...it tends to get stacked here for that and over here for this and...you get the idea. My goal this year is to get a better system in place. I'm almost there as I just cleared out the hanging file draw in my computer desk so...there is actually room in it for the things I need quick access to all the time.

I don't have a picture- will have to do that. But basically I've got 2 bookcases for books- ones for all of my books- shakespeare, poetry, biographies, ect. The other is dd's and it has her school workbooks on the top shelf along with all her math manipulatives. The bottom two shelves are all her books. I used to have this in her room but moved it out to the dining room. I have it positioned so that she has her own reading corner- or library corner as she calls it.
I also have a large armoire thing from the 70's that the rest of the school books, supplies, ect is on and I have a set of 3 plastic drawers for all the craft stuff.
