Parental involvement not always as expected

    Research demonstrates conclusively that children whose parents are involved in their schooling achieve better on standardized test scores.
    Many schools have launched programs to encourage parent and family involvement.

    ...So why is it that when parents choose to pull their children out of school and homeschool them they are sometimes viewed with suspicion and even hostility?
