Well, I thrilled my kids by adding food coloring to the pancakes! LOL. My little dd loved her pink princess pancakes. My older kids loved the swirled green and blue ones. It was so much fun! Now...pancakes fry so the inside is more colorful than the outside...but it was a blast. I am thinking of adding food coloring for fun in waffles and cookies just to mix things up a bit. I have to do something fun since I am trying to cut out as much junk as possible. lol.

I tried to add food coloring to our mac & cheese a few weeks ago.. I won't do it again..lol.

The little ones didn't mind eating green mac & cheese.. but my oldest and I were repulsed at it

I had a friend who couldn't get her kids to drink any form of milk.. so she started giving them monster juice.. it was milk with green food coloring ;)

OK! (Looking over my shoulder to see if Rachael's anywhere near....)

My tomboy hasn't worn pink since she was 6 years old. She read that post over my shoulder and commented, "How cool! We should do that!" or some such comment. I said, "YOU WANT PINK PANCAKES!!! YOU REALLY ARE A GIRL!!!" Oh, no! SHE meant the blue and green was a cool idea, NOT the pink, lol!!! I promised her I'd make her pnk pancakes for breakfast sometime......

Jackie...you tell Rachael that when we all finally do meet I will be happy to make her our special tye dye pancakes! I am going to try waffles since they don't always brown so much...I think the color will be better.

Oh and for the health nuts, I do sprinkle in flax seed meal and use REAL maple syrup...so all of you are welcome. Oh SHHHHHHHH...don't tell my dh... I always tell him how much I hate making breakfast. LOL.

Sounds like lots of fun. Would love to see a pic if you ever make them again.

When I taught pre-K we used to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday by making green eggs and ham, and green everything else.

Some kids wouldn't touch the stuff no matter how much we explained that it would taste the same.

    Food coloring is fun.

Jackie, Rachael sounds sooo much like Joyce! She is slowly adding more girly colors to her wardrobe. My nephew decided that the name for the girls like that are Tomboy Princesses. She loved that! I had to tease her yesterday. We were going to the zoo and had packed some b-ball caps for the babies and she mentioned she didn't have one. She had just bought a red one a few weeks ago and I mentioned that to her. She said "I don't have anything red on" so I told her to change into a red shirt and she replied "but then I have to change my shoes". I just looked at her and she sat there a minute and burst out laughing. She said "I sound pretty silly don't I?!" I had to agree!

I've done green cupcakes and green mashed potatoes. The cupcakes were a hit but the potatoes didn't go over too good! I never thought of coloring the pancakes, though. My dd accidentally bought a mix for chocolate chip muffins when she wanted blueberry. Well, my dgd didn't want to try them so my daughter told her they were "cookie cakes" and that caught her attention. She ended up eating more than one!

I missed reading Timkelmoms! This is in reference to green eggs and ham. When I was stationed in Germany we would go out on field problems. We would cook meals that would be sent out the soldiers in the woods. The container that were used for transporting the hot food would turn the eggs green. A very common breakfast meat was very similar to spam so we used to joke that we got to eat "green eggs and spam"!

Just so you know, this is exactly why my hubby will not eat eggs. He was raised in the military and just can't get passed the green eggs...

...and ham anyone (sorry couldn't help myself!) !)
