I thought I would share the good news ...

My SIL's father started a church in this area around a year ago. The church has really grown and some great things have been happening. An 11 year old boy who attends the church had been sick and the tests came back that he had leukemia. The church has been praying for him for 2 months. A week or so ago, they had an all-night prayer service and they prayed for this boy there as well. He just went back for testing again and he no longer has leukemia.

The doctor couldn't explain it - He said it was a miracle!

That is so great! How exciting for the family---God is so good!!!

That happened to my dad. The doctor said he had cancer growing all through his spine. My dad was in a lot of pain and the x-rays showed it all plainly. They didn't think they could get it all, and though they scheduled surgery, they said it would be very dangerous, and may not help. At any rate, he wasn't going to have long to live. I was only 3 or 4, so I didn't understand the impact of it all. The churches of our denomination in the surrounding area all banded together with prayer meetings, and a night and day of prayer the night before and day of his surgery. My mom said it was just amazing. It was so hard for her to sit there through the surgery wondering if she would ever even see her husband alive again. When the doctor came out he had this huge smile on his face. She was so surprised! There were others in the waiting room that looked up when he came in. He had this big booming voice and said, 'Well, when we got in there we couldn't find any sign of cancer. Everything was normal, just as it should be. I tell you folks, this lady's husband has just experienced a miracle. Nothing else can explain this. I didn't believe in God before, but I do now!" It really WAS amazing!!! Whenever my dad went in for check-ups after that, the doctor would call out, "Hey, there's my miracle man!" And would proceed to tell others what happened and how it was a miracle, etc. Who knows how many people were brought to the Lord because of that incident, and the doctor, bless his heart, who was not afraid to share what had happened, and profess his new faith in God!

Wow Amanda! That is such a miracle. I got teary eyed just reading about it and thinking about it. I don't know how people can not believe in God after hearing about something like that!!! What a huge blessing for that boy and his family:)!

You know... When my SIL told us about this over the weekend, my mom commented that in the end times, the Bible says there will be more and more miracles like this.

I started attending a huge church this summer that has about 6-8 thousand in attendance each week (2 services). With THAT many people, we hear about a lot of prayer requests and praise reports to go along with them! God is doing a lot of great things. We have yellow prayer cards to fill out and place in the offering bucket and the request get prayed over for one month. On Wednesday night, they hand out 1-2 cards to each person when you walk in. The first half of the meeting is all prayer. The pastors and other church officials also pour through the prayer cards each week. Sunday morning's service also has a time dedicated to healing. At the beginning, people come down to pray while the congregation sings worship songs. It really is amazing... They read a few answered prayer cards every Sunday. God answers prayers for all kinds of needs!

    Amanda,

That's what prayer meeting (Wednesday night) is SUPPOSED to be! It seemed like people were lecturing or giving sermons on Wednesday nights around here, instead of really praying! It got old fast, and attendance dwindled. We got a new pastor and he re-initiated a REAL prayer meeting, and amazing things have happened! God really does answer all kinds of needs, and the neat thing is, He's often working on it before we even pray, and when we believe and ask, He delievers! Amazing!!!
