Haven't poked my head in here in a few weeks - apologies; I'm working on growing and promoting my blog!

In the meantime, 2 days late with less than 1/3 of our rent and we've been evicted. Were able to bring the balance, including late fees (including some which he has never charged us but are on the legal eviction paper as part of balance due) to him yesterday and he refused us. Our rent was only due on Sunday.

Court is next week, Thursday, but small towns.... The eviction isn't legal as he didn't give us proper notice. It's in God's hands, and we are sure it is a God-thing all around. Just wish it wasn't as stressful as it's having to be.

Above all else right now, we need somewhere to go. We need to find a house that we can afford, and we need to know if hubby needs a different job in Waco or if he's to go ahead and take the job which was just offered to him by an old boss this week. Seems like God's timing, but we need a place!

I know prayer from you ladies here moves mountains. I appreciate your standing with us and I'll update when I can! Thank you!

Someone told me one time things happen for reason and when it happens we don't know why the reason is, until later then we see and say oh yea got it.

Thanks ladies! Just popping in for a quick update.

Regardless of everything we've been told and found on state websites to the contrary, we did lose in court Thursday. Anything my husband said was responded to by the judge with just, "that doesn't matter," including hubby asking to whom he should appeal. The judge said his time to appeal was up - which he'd just made the decision, so how can your appeal time be up? Crazy. Anyway. Doesn't matter.

Constable says we have 5 days before enforcing the writ of possession, so we have until at least Tuesday morning.

Wednesday night we found a house. Thursday after court went to look at it and it's very rough; if you're on my facebook or my blog I'll post pics next week sometime. Mostly the bathroom has had to be completely redone in order to even be usable, even to walk into it. The rest of the house is just middle-of-renovation messy for the most part.

Anyway, we're moving in with $150, paying only $400/mo for rent in consideration of finishing the painting, finishing doing the doors in the kitchen for the rest of this month's rent, and the bathroom is all of NEXT month's rent. Actually, with the plumbing and stuff he's ended up having to do today, and the fact that $150 is too much for the rest of this month's rent anyway, we probably won't now owe anything before the first of November. We'll be able to work off most if not all of rent for the extent of our being there. No lease so we aren't tied to it for a full year, either.

It's a 3 bedroom house with a dining area plus an enclosed garage. Not huge, but bigger than what we were doing in San Antonio, and as we have more time than money (and that's saying something with 5 kids and a hubby who is both working and attending college) it's going to work well for us especially in the shorter term.

It's a season and we knew it would be meager for a while with hubby going to school, and we are thanking God to be out from under this landlord and paying just over half the rent we have been. (Not to mention we can work it off and not have to pay out cash AT ALL. Praise God!!)

Moving this weekend, phone and net should transfer on Monday, and I should be around after that! I'm on Facebook all the time if you want to keep up, and am trying to do really regular posts on my blog -- they aren't always super personal though. ;)

Thought I'd give a shout out while I could and thank you all for your prayers!

Sorry that you lost in court. I am relieved to hear that you found a home to move into. I know that the move is not the best of timing right now. I am glad that your faith is strong in the Lord and that you are placing it in His hands.

Continuing prayer for you and your family. (((hugs)))
