Michelle gave birth to their 18th child, their 8th daughter. Congratulations Duggars! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/18th_baby
WOW! The comment, "We'd both love to have more!" amazes me! I can't imagine being pregnant 18 times and still want to do it again! I certainly wish them well! I can't imagine how they can afford all those kids---maybe that's why they do the tv show???
The Duggers are debt-free. They both have real estate licenses and own investment properties. I'm sure the TV show does help them financially, but they were not in financial trouble before the show began.
I don't know how you can keep them all straight and give them the love they need. But, that is there life not mine. I wish them luck. but having more I don't know...
I think its wonderful. Good luck to them. They have bought a child into the world that they wanted, and bought her into a loving family.
They have several sets of twins... I think 2. One twin pregnancy would do me in..lol This is her 3rd section.. they haven't all been back to back, but I can't imagine finding a dr who would be gung ho her having more. This will be my 4th section, and while the dr didn't say "you know this is it", he did kind of ask if we were finished.. the more sections you have the more risk you face either trying to VBAC or have another section.
ROTFL!!! I only have four and I see a bladder tack in my future!! I do think that children are absolutely God's biggest blessing to us. And I think God knows that *I* could not handle 18 kids (5 would be nice ). But obviously the Duggers do an awesome job of raising their children, and God continues to bless them.
For me, the two I have can put me over the edge on some days so I can't imagine 18! But they seem like a happy family. And by all appearances, are doing a great job raising their kids in a loving enviornment..... So congratulations to them! There is a poster out there that cracks me up though....(hopefully this will not offend anyone and if it does just have it pulled).....It has a picture of the Duggar family and underneath says "It's a vagina not a clown car!" Don't know why but I laugh everytime I see it or even think about it!
I still don't know how they can give them all the love children need. I know I grow up in a very large family and you never know what goes on behind close doors. Yes, all there tv shows show everyone happy, but when you are out there for everyone you sure change. It will be cute to see books written by the children as they grow up and get out on there own I am sure they will have alot to say.
My dad is one of 9 children and they were placed in a orphanage for non-adoptable children in another state when he was 13 (the oldest), because my grandfather left them. Though my grandmother could not provide for them financially or be there for them physically, all of her children love her dearly and never question her love for them. Love is not shown with stuff. It's shown by actions. Love is not something we are given a certain amount of. It grows, and if God gives us the children, He can certainly give us enough love for all of them. Now, there are families with many children who do not properly care for them. But it's not because it can't be done, but because they choose not to.
Now, there are families with many children who do not properly care for them. But it's not because it can't be done, but because they choose not to.[/quote] WOW, thats strong, I don't think so on that, it's not that they choose not to care for them, they can't. You are saying GOD gave them the children, he did but they just couldn't afford them or take care of them, doen't mean they choose not to care for them. So, I am confused you are saying GOD only gives children to those who can take care of them, don't think so you better check out your books again. I know alot of people who have children who are a blessing from GOD and love them but have trouble taking care of them. I know alot who have children another blessing from GOD can take care of them, but because they have a large family can't show them all the love they need. That is what I am trying to say, I am not saying they don't love them, but get real they can't give them all the attention and love they need.
I think I'm not really getting my point across well, and I'm sorry if I offended you, Kris. Of course there are those who struggle financially and have a hard time taking care of their families. There have been times in my own life where we wondered how we would make it financially. I'm just saying that if someone chooses to have that many children, I think they can love each and every one of them.
They are a local family. My friend went to a homeschool seminar Mrs. Duggar gave. She explained their discipline system of spanking until you hear the broken cry. That is the least of the rumors going around, but as that was the only one happening in a public arena with many witnesses that is all I will share.
