no food left out (dog would eat it anyway!)

We usually do breakfast after the stockings or before, so that would be before gifts... this year will depend if dh has to work Christmas Eve or not, how we do things fluctuates with Postal working this time of year...

White White White. Of course, I'm so OCD that if it weren't for my horrible fear of the boys breaking ornaments (thereby trumping my OCD and allowing me to hang only hand made cheapies that are no loss if broken) I'd have a completely matching tree. It's how my mom was too, so eclectic trees just look terrible to me...lol.

Christmas dinner at home, or elsewhere?

both  ...we usually have a christmas dinner on christmas eve day at the home of dh's mother and stepfather (this is a potluck sorta deal with 25+ people there of all ages) and then we do ours here sometimes on christmas day and sometimes not until new years, because we have two close friends we like to have here with us and some years they have to go to one of their parents' places christmas day - if they do that, we wait and have ours with them a bit after......i suppose that might be odd, but we like having them here, so we work with their schedule. :)

keep it. let dh grumble - he'll get over it. (of course, this sounds like a personal choice of your own and only you know whether he would or not... mine would.. sometimes i just go ahead and do, knowing that whatever grumbles my dh has will wear off soon enough...he's the sort who is always grumbling about something... :p )

    okay I will answer both!
Mixed but nice looking tree, and White ! I always dream of a white Christmas!

havent had one in years though!
And the caroling party got kicked because I looked at my carpets and said, Yuck, we didnt do the floors yet and that had been the plan so I have not cleaned them this year as we were pulling the carpet for wood floors.... hard as it is I may not do a party this year... hubby said YEAH< kids said "What?" so we will have to figure SOMETHING out....

let pride stand in your way of having fun? Or the opposite, ditch the pride and invite people over to your dirty carpet house? ( grin)

wrapping paper. But only at Christmas. It's the running joke in DH's family that Christmas presents are the ONLY gifts that are ever wrapped... except Em's birthday presents (my niece). Her Bday is a few days before Christmas, so she always ends up with at least a couple wrapped gifts. And we laugh about it every year.

Do the 12 days of Christmas, or just put the whole Nativity up at once?

well, never thought of 12 days of Christmas that way, cool, but ds10 puts the nativity up.. when he finds it he sets it up.he has the wise guys further away still but the shepherds are there.. one year ds16 when he was in charge of it left Jesus out till Christmas eve! It was cute!

candy canes on trees or in stockings? ( we don't put them on trees here because the ants ate them out of the package and left the empty packages one year! )

Candy canes on trees. The kids and I snitch some off all the time though. We have already gone through 2 boxes of canes and our tree isn't even up yet. :)

Icicles or no icicles on the tree. Our cats eat the icicles so we don't put them on.
