Ok....girls. Sheila and I have been busting our *chops* off to get ready for our home school open house we are having Tuesday the 20th. :shock: We are just about ready. We can't just begin to tell you how many times we *waffled* back and forth about decisions. What should we have for snacks? What about childcare? How much money to ask for at the door?How many will be coming? Who to invite to the private dinner for area leaders?What announcements do we need to make? How should we lay out the program? When are giving the door prizes away?, etc., etc.... The long and short of it is that our *brains have become mush* What is even funnier about people is that when we originally posted *who would like to help lead* we got 0 answers. NOW, that we are close to our date....talk about SUGGESTIONS ! :shock: Eveything from setting up childcare to setting up booths for a bookfair type thing, which,btw this is not. It is a *lets get to know each other and the groups around us, and be informed about the law type thing*. She and I just shake our head on that one Oh well, I think people mean well :roll: But we also have a lot that signed up to serve refreshments and be greeters. So I think all and all we have been blest, and I'm very excited about doing this for the first time. Well, I hope ya'll will be thinking about us. :wink: We will finalize all of our running around this weekend. I'm still *waffling* whether I should tell people where Sheila and I post at. Oh well,I thought I would vent a few of my * nervous nerves* here since we hadn't had time to post much lately! All and all I have enjoyed every minute of coordinating and working on this project. I hope it brings some much needed help to newbies and some encouragement to those of us not so new! I wish that each and every one of ya could be there! Good idea Becky! I'll talk to Sheila since she's the technical person. I am definetly NOT *Technical Tina* :lol: We need to remember to take our cameras.. I don't really know if the guest speakers will have anything written put together. :? Sheila prepared our AWESOME programs. :shock: They list all the advertisors/supprtors that She and I got! We are VERY proud of that work! I swear I think some of those advertisers thought She and I knew ADVERTISING slogans as well! :lol: :lol: We had to clarify that we did their advertising layouts ONLY... We are hiomeschoolers NOT marketers! :lol: But a lot of them couldn't come up with slogans and/or pictures to advertise their business. Thats OK....Sheila rose to the occasion. :wink: Office Depot came through too. They gave us a significant discount on our 200 programs that we need to make.... Ok....off to go *wring my hands* to see what else we can do! :lol:

I'm reading all the post and have such a range of emotions. I'm laughing with Tina's post because I've lived it. LOL Thank you to those that are thinking about us. I'm ready. It's that feeling that you get when you plan your wedding. You've been planning so long that you just want it to be here. Becky what type of thing did you have in mind to download? The program is mostly ads (gotta pay the bills) and the groups/activities/co-ops/classes/etc...around this area. I know I wouldn't post that but...if you are looking at doing something in your area. We'd be glad to share our *lessons learned*. Key is to get a good strong running buddy because like Tina said you will waffle back and forth on several issues. Where do we set the coffee up at? Who should we ask to advertise? You name it, I think we've asked, eaten and digested it. ROFL Deep breath...PUSH! ROFL
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... :shock: I can't stand it girls!!!!!!! I just clicked over a second to post because we are doing so many last minute things. :shock: The local newspaper, did a wonderful small 3 paragraph section :shock: in the *date book* section advertising. The datebook is a free section. GEEZE we thought it would only give the date, the time.. But it didn't, it did so much more......We are sooooooo EXCITED!!!!!
